Believe me, I love removing unnecessary medications.Sometimes there's no perfect answer, and most doctors would take a patient who can be optimized once stabilized.

@therealRYC Useful data point but not sure completely generalizes. In these patients who self-reported seeing a psychiatrist for depression or anxiety, I'd believe genetics isn't driving generic mood/anxiety disorders. It doesn't prevent genetics driving atypical/severe cases.

@therealRYC @Luke_Tera @JAMAPsych Often, these patients with severe mental illness and their communities have limited access to fresh food and staffing. Food and "lifestyle changes" while ideal/desirable are kinda unfair to propose without acknowledging these realities.

@DrDominicNg @mkaeberlein Correct. And @mkaeberlein has approached translational aging research with a lot of reliance on evidence based efficacy. He's a generally optimistic guy, but is probably advocating out of concern when lack of authoritative evidence increases risk for people to get duped.

@codewithimanshu @TivadarDanka ... decomposing gives the right intuition (e.g. the coefficients give the strength of each individual frequency given by that sinusoid). It turns out there are other functions you can use (Legendre functions were mentioned) but its all the same - just vectors.
