A new era of public safety has arrived in Orlando!
Meet OPDโs Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program - a new tool changing how officers respond to emergencies across the city.
When certain 911 calls come in, DFR drones launch from permanent docking stations and fly directly to scenes - giving OPD eyes on developing incidents within seconds.
Video from our DFR drones is already making a difference in real casesย involving stolen vehicles, fleeing suspects, and violent crimes, including battery, aggravated assault, and shootings.
And this is just the beginning.
Follow OPD for more as we share how this technology is strengthening the way we serve and protect Orlando.
