The risk of poverty and social exclusion in Malta has dropped to 19.7% in 2024, from 24.6% in 2013. Continued investment and rising incomes are helping to improve lives. 📊

Starting the year with an increase in pensions and other benefits - recipients will see a boost of €8 weekly or €416 annually, totaling a @MaltaGov investment of €87 million.

This highlights our commitment to social justice, with an 83% increase in spending since 2013.

This upcoming year's funding represents an increase of over €5 million from last year, enhancing services offered by Appoġġ, the Directorate for Alternative Care, domestic violence support, and other services across centres in Malta and Gozo.

Together with FSWS, we announced a record €42 million investment for next year, increasing funding by over €5 million to enhance social services across Malta and Gozo.
