@droningmuffler There's a phenomenal French version of this that came out in 1953 directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot. I haven't seen this Friedkin version but the older one has been a long time favorite.
@droningmuffler Highly highly recommend Naked Lunch. It has an absolutely wild narrative, an Ornette Coleman soundtrack and some truly bizzare Roy Scheider performances. One of my favs of his.
I watched Crash 15 years ago and still don't know what to make of it though.
@droningmuffler Did you try Exiled Records? I picked up my copy of Tago Mago from there. They also had a copy of This Heat's Deceit I got at the same time.
@BrianKemm After Sybil dies Basil becomes a senile Brexiter, & Manuel picks up some slack. Basil begins to suspect Manuel is plotting to "replace" him as the hotel owner, so he turns the hotel into an H. H. Holmes style murder house, trapping Manuel inside who must escape.
@droningmuffler This is one of my favorite movies. The mood, the cinematography, the way time elapses, and how an empty emotional hole destroys an entire community. Plus the unpublished ending is real weird, look that up when you get a chance.
@kittrick I think the traditional route is to make your first novel so complicated you start to go insane, and then you put it in a drawer, take a six month break, then start on your second novel.
@makenoisemusic Will there be an office hours this week to (hopefully) demo the Strega? Anything else would be great too, having an office hours to look forward to is a nice part of the week! π
