@cianginty Refuse and recycling companies are licensed, so we’re saying because the authorities here couldn’t regulate a few refuse and recycling companies, we now all have to schlep our cans and bottles to the shops vs the blue bin by the door.

@cianginty If I could pay my taxes and tv license in cans I would be very happy. We could pay the Green Party tds and councillors in dirty cans for their salary. It would be an 80 hr week for them by the time they passed every one individually through a return machine

@cianginty Do the machines successfully separate all the coloured plastic tops from transparent plastic and soft labels? Do we make the drinks companies reuse the byproduct collected for more the future containers, or are we just greenwashing with a brighter shade of green?

@cianginty The real reason I think it’s bollocks is because if a barcode is poorly printed, or the label comes off a bottle, then the machine can’t recycle it. So do I schlep it home, or put it in the general refuse bin stores have near the machines.

@Holocaust_Irl 3/ I also find it hard to believe that a people who suffered something as brutal as the holocaust can allow their state to act in such a way. I hate that Israeli people are also victims of attacks all around their country and hope for peace for the region.

@Holocaust_Irl 2/ and that children are learning to be martyrs actually supports the Israeli position that there are no innocents in Gaza. I have no specific thoughts on any religious or cultural group whether it be Jews, Arabs, catholics etc. but I am very much against Israeli cruelty.

@JoannaDonnellyL @lyons_tea This started happening with the new biodegradable bags. Also it is great that box comes without plastic wrap but it does seem to affect shelf life. We gave up on @lyons_tea in the last year. Either switch to Barry’s or any gold blend home brand will be better than what you have
