My mate's new food truck was stolen this morning before he even got to trade from it. Police investigating. Assuming it's already on a ferry to the UK we've started a https://t.co/8TSCLyciva to get something so Dejan can trade in. If it's recovered, donations will be refunded.π
@doctorcaldwell@Trisha_the_doc @1JasonStein Good morning, happy to get on a call with anyone who'd like to learn more about SIBR rounds, we also have a very solid nursing bedside handover program that we can rollout on up to 10 wards on a week.
"Interprofessional communication (IPC) & workplace efficiency ... are two important domains of healthcare quality."
66.7% of residents believed IPC was better on the unit running #SIBR#wardrounds vs other units.
We've just updated our twice monthly free webinar times for the coming months. Learn how our Nurses First (nursing change of shift) or #SIBR rounds programs can improve your ward processes & outcomes.

F/U on #ICU#wardrounds outcomes after #SIBR#wardrounds.
- 29.9% point increase in nurse attendance on rounds
- 21% point increase in family attendance
Keep in mind, they also reduced rounds duration by 25% & increased 'rounds done by noon' by 23%.
#familyengagement
F/U on the #ICU#SIBR#wardrounds outcomes, the unit also tracked process and behavior criteria. Of note:
16% point increase in 'Attending summarizes plan', p<0.01
9.5% point increase in 'Clear on task assignment', p=0.01
7.3% increase in 'Obtained input from care team', p<0.01
And with this reduction in #ICU#wardrounds duration down 5.5 minutes per patient with #SIBR rounds in place, there was a 23% increase in 'rounds done by noon'.
Post-SIBR implementation outcomes for a 25-bed medical ICU in the US.
1. Mean rounding duration decreased 25% (p<0.01), or an average 5.5 minutes per patient. With an average daily census of 20 patients, that's an about a 110 minutes per day rounding.
Casual lunch anyone? ;)
24-bed medical unit implemented #SIBR#wardrounds, no change in Length of Stay but a 30% reduction in 7-day readmissions (p=0.03) and 19% reduction in 30-day readmissions (not statistically significant, but "clinically significant").
@doctorcaldwell@DrGrumble @JohnLauner @Trisha_the_doc@BenAllenGP@BrennanSurgeon@nialldowney@trishgreenhalgh Also structure & flow enables: having the patient ready to participate, hearing aid in, speak to their left ear, that's the good one, get interpreter services lined up, inform patient of the process so they know what items will definitely be covered, reduces interruptions
If anyone would like our nursing TEAM huddle sheet template for free, see below. Any of the units we've worked with always seem to really like this style of shift huddle.
Inspired by opthamologist-comedian @DGlaucomflecken, we've tried to punch up our sample nursing Change of Shift Huddle sheet.
(For those who don't know: many hospital units conduct a 2-minute huddle at each shift-change to orient the oncoming staff and create good team vibes.)
