PUBLIC SAFETY WARNING to @volkswagenindia @VWGroup

My ₹60L+ German CBU Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line has been lying in the workshop since June 16 because the OEM tyre size 255/45 R19 is not available in India.

This is not a cosmetic part. This is a safety-critical consumable.
A simple pothole / broken road impact damaged THREE tyres at once. This exposes a serious India-suitability issue with such low-profile tyres on premium imported SUVs sold here.

What is more shocking is that the OEM replacement tyre itself is not available in India.

Because Volkswagen India has given no written solution despite emails and X posts, I was forced to explore an alternative tyre size. The 255/50 R19 did NOT fit safely — it rubbed against the front shock absorber/strut and got damaged.

This could have become a serious road-safety issue.

This is not just my problem. It can affect every buyer of the imported Tiguan R-Line and potentially the new Tayron R-Line and its series too, if the same rare 255/45 R19 tyre size is sold without assured replacement support in India.

Premium pricing without premium after-sales support is unacceptable.

My car has been unusable since June 16. I am losing time, money and peace of mind because Volkswagen sold a ₹60L+ imported SUV in India without ensuring availability of its basic safety consumable.

@volkswagenindia must respond in writing: source OEM 255/45 R19 tyres immediately or issue a tested, homologated India-safe alternative.

This is precisely the vague response I have been receiving, while my ₹60 lakh+ Tiguan R-Line continues to remain unusable in the workshop since June 16. Photographs attached.

A simple, clear written response from Volkswagen India’s central technical team—confirming either the availability of the OEM 255/45 R19 tyre or a tested and officially approved alternative—could have saved enormous time, money and distress.

I formally raised this matter by email on July 7 and again on July 8, yet there was no timely or technically responsible response. Instead, the continued silence forced me to independently explore an alternative tyre size. The 255/50 R19 subsequently rubbed against the front strut and was damaged, creating an avoidable safety risk and further financial loss.

This was not caused by lack of patience from my side. It was caused by Volkswagen India’s lack of urgency, ownership and technical guidance regarding a safety-critical component.

Please do not merely say that “every effort” is being made. Kindly provide a specific written answer from your technical team:

By what date will the OEM 255/45 R19 tyres be supplied?
What officially tested and homologated alternative is approved?
Will Volkswagen bear responsibility for the additional losses caused by the delay and lack of guidance?

Premium after-sales support requires action, accountability and clear technical communication—not generic social-media assurances.

Saved 1/3 rd of Humanity from descending into chaos and madness

What he did has been feeding a billion people daily for the last 50 years and will for the next 50.

Doesn't it feel awkward that we shower epithets like God, Legend and GOAT on sportsmen and actors, when someone like Norman Borlaug exists

In the history of time, you could earn lots of money only if you were immensely knowledgeable, had amazing skills, could generate value, had access or had rich forefathers.

Then cheap internet was launched in India in 2016 and Xiaomi launched cheap smartphones with ok touch screens.

The new careers, careers that wouldn't even be considered careers, launched since then, is unbelievable.

One of India's richest Youtubers, records his daily life. He does nothing else. No new information given, no knowledge shared, no value created, nothing.

He just takes videos of what he does everyday, walking around, talking to his mom etc etc

He probably out earns CEOs of One lakh crore companies.

Then there is someone who is a professional Saree draper.

Her consultancy charges apparently goes into lakhs.

Then there is a group of guys who give reactions to other videos. Just contort their faces in a particular manner and they take home pay more than the official salary of the SBI Chairman

It has spawned finance influencers who know nothing of finance, food bloggers who know nothing about food, professional biriyani eaters, credit card usage influencers and 22 year old life coaches.

I mean what life you have seen at 22 that you can actually coach others.

All these careers wouldn't exist without cheap internet

Internet truly has unlocked unseen sources of money that we wouldn't have thought about, 15 years ago.

Internet has proven, that you need not necessarily be skilled or knowledgeable, to earn money. All you need is persistence and some luck.
