“CCA” = the “Climate Commitment Act,” a Washington State cap and trade system which adds inflationary costs to just about everything Washingtonians buy.

It’s a slush fund, basically. Department of Ecology has harvested more than $5 billion, and allocated it how it would like to favored groups, without any real accountability or need to show results. It worsens affordability for the state, and more than 70% of the dollars go to “planning” or bureaucracy. Meanwhile, there’s no evidence WA’s CO2 emissions have appreciably declined as a result of all this money.

3⃣ Heatwaves have increased in many regions around the globe since 1950, sure, but in areas that have good data coverage before then, long-term trends are more nuanced. For example, here in the U.S., the number of heatwaves (defined as three or more consecutive days with daily maximum temperatures ≥90th percentile relative to 1991−2020 climatology) have decreased by 20.2% since the start of the 20th century (1994−2025 average minus 1901−30 average).

Gary Locke has entered the budget chat. As a part of my no new taxes budget proposal last December, I introduced a host of budget reforms. Some of those reforms I took directly from Gary Locke when he was Governor. All of those sound reforms were rejected. It goes to show how far away from sound economic policy the current Democrat majority has strayed that they can’t even hear reforms that worked under one of their own previous Governors. Now you have two former Democrat Governors essentially word for word stating what Republicans have been saying for 4 years now of runaway spending and deficits. If you want a dog like this, first off, you’re going to need a Belgian Malinois. They are essentially the Ferraris of the dog world.
