Your eyes may not always warn you when diabetes is affecting them. Early diabetic eye disease can develop without noticeable symptoms, which is why regular eye screening matters.
If you notice blurred vision, floaters, dark spots or difficulty seeing at night, please don’t ignore the change. And even if your vision feels perfectly fine, make regular eye check-ups part of your diabetes care.
Regular eye screening can help detect changes early and support timely treatment.

I wanted to express my gratitude to you and Dr. Pitchumoni for the care and guidance you have provided me.
My sugar levels first went up during my pregnancy, though I wasn't put on any diabetic medication at the time. a few years later, I realized I had developed diabetes. I immediately contacted Dr. Pitchumoni, who recommended starting an exercise routine. With that advice, I was able to bring my A1c down to 7.0, and I thought I was managing my sugar well.
However, my health truly took a turn for the better after I met with you. Your insight that my body didn't require a lot of food, combined with your excellent advice and the adjustment you made to my medication, worked wonders. Because of your care, my A1c dropped further to 6.3.

Our latest research, published in the peer reviewed journal PLOS ONE, has been featured in @IndianExpress.
The study by researchers from the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF), Chennai, and Prof @vimalkarani and colleagues from the @UniofReading, UK, found that people with a genetic risk of high cholesterol may be more likely to have higher cholesterol levels if they follow a poor quality diet.
The encouraging finding? People who followed a medium or high quality diet showed no significant differences in cholesterol levels between those with higher and lower genetic risk groups.
These findings highlight how healthy eating habits can help manage cholesterol levels, even among people with a genetic predisposition, and reinforce the potential of personalised nutrition in preventing cardiometabolic diseases.

Snoring isn’t always just a noisy night.
Frequent or loud snoring can sometimes be a sign of sleep apnoea, where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. This can affect oxygen levels, sleep quality and overall health. For people living with diabetes, poor sleep and sleep-related breathing problems may also make blood sugar management more difficult.
If snoring is frequent, don’t ignore it. Talk to your doctor, especially if you also feel unusually tired during the day.
