Anne Doyle from Co Kerry branch is the first delegate to address #tui24 on the subject of tertiary degrees. Teachers need to be involved in the design and implementation of new degrees! Motion carried.
Brilliant to see these 23 tertiary courses launched tomorrow. A development led by the new @NTOIreland & product of a great partnership between @hea_irl & @SOLASFET https://t.co/mkK8Kwst0s
A man wanting to jump off a bridge in London was talked down by strangers who held him for an hour until help arrived. Look at that grip. Look at the care, compassion, selflessness, and determination shown by strangers to a hurting human being.
We need more of this in the world.

SEN students deserve to be supported and treated with the highest respect. SEN teachers have specialist qualifications - funding must be made available. #TUI22
@andrewbrownlee7@DCU This is great news. Many of our HEI’s are opening their doors to more FET students, with many accessing some UCC courses with a minimum of 4 Distinctions. We need qualified Guidance Counsellors on the ground in the FET colleges to guide FET students with this transition
Listen back here to my interview with Jennifer Zamparelli on 2fm yesterday were we discussed the many opportunities available across FET and apprenticeship at this important time #ThisisFET#SmartChoices https://t.co/xSBKv560oj
@SimonHarrisTD We Introduced Active Consent training on a couple of campuses in Kerry College last year. This must be prioritized for all students- and be inclusive of teachers and management. Consent is a culture and way of communicating. Not just something you do on a night out!
Education is key to changing culture & attitudes. In 2021, we provided consent classes for 1st year students in third level. 18,000 1st year students participated. There is still an opportunity to sign up. Determined our sector does all it can to tackle gender based violence
