Labour’s new “bottle tax” is a masterclass in how not to do climate policy.
They’ve designed a weight‑based levy that hammers glass – the infinitely recyclable, genuinely sustainable option – while giving cheaper plastic a relative free pass.
The result?
Up to 10–12p slapped on basic glass packaging, with fees on glass beverage containers reportedly around 49 times higher than for some less recyclable materials.
Unions and industry are spelling it out in words of one syllable: this isn’t a green transition, it’s a de‑industrialisation plan. British Glass and GMB warn tens of thousands of jobs in a 120,000‑strong supply chain are now in the firing line, with investors stalling “billions” in planned UK projects because ministers have just made domestic production uncompetitive overnight.
Labour dresses this up as “extended producer responsibility”. In reality it’s extended unemployment responsibility: loading costs onto UK manufacturers until production migrates to lower‑regulation economies, and Britain ends up importing the same bottles, with higher transport emissions, and fewer decent jobs at home.
If you wanted a policy designed in a spreadsheet by someone who has never visited a factory but loves a COP photo‑op, this is it.
The folic acid petition has hit 20,000 but we need five times as many for a parliamentary debate.
Please encourage friends and family to sign.
Who could be against a debate on this subject?
N.B. There has not been a debate in parliament yet.

🚨🇬🇧 The UK government has responded to the petition regarding folic acid in flour.
The UK Government is forcing synthetic folic acid into all non-wholemeal wheat flour from the end of 2026.
This affects 70 million people to supposedly prevent just 200 neural tube defect cases a year.
It’s not just bread it means almost every everyday product made with white or brown flour: pasta, pizza bases, cakes, biscuits, pastries, pies, crackers, and most processed baked goods. Men and children get zero benefit, yet studies have linked higher folic acid intake to increased prostate cancer risk in men.
They’re choosing mass medication of the entire population through our staple foods instead of targeted supplements for women who actually need it.
This is being forced on us without real choice. It will appear in the ingredients list, but there’ll be no clear warning on the front of the pack.
Natural folate from food is one thing this unnatural synthetic chemical is another.
Sign the petition in the comments we need to at least have a debate on this.
Please share with as many people as possible.
I’m feeling all kinds of emotions tonight.
The Government has announced that more illegal migrants will be housed on MOD sites, and like many people, I’m struggling to understand the direction we’re heading in.
The Home Office presents these sites as providing only the basics, but from what we’ve seen at Wethersfield, the reality appears far more extensive. There are three meals a day, on-site healthcare facilities, welfare teams, activity coordinators, security staff and transport into nearby towns for appointments and other services. Whether people agree with me or not, these sites clearly require significant resources and taxpayers are entitled to ask how much they are costing.
Many local residents also question why people are being transported into surrounding towns on a daily basis. If the purpose is to accommodate people on a secure site, why are there constant shuttle buses? These are reasonable questions that deserve honest answers.
Then there’s the contracts. Companies providing transport (Foster Hartley) and other services stand to benefit from these large-scale accommodation sites. As more sites open, many people will understandably ask who is profiting from these decisions while local public services remain under pressure.
What also doesn’t sit right with me is the sheer scale of these sites. Housing well over 1,000 single adult men in one location is something many local communities have raised concerns about from the very beginning. Whether it’s the pressure on local infrastructure, policing, healthcare or community confidence, these concerns shouldn’t simply be dismissed by calling people names.
People can disagree with my views, and that’s their right. But questioning Government policy is not hatred. It’s democracy.
I genuinely believe the Government should be focusing on protecting our borders, reducing illegal immigration and investing in the people already living here, who are struggling with the cost of living, waiting lists, housing shortages and overstretched public services.
Tonight, I’m just left feeling frustrated. Something about all of this doesn’t sit right with me, and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.
I am furious about this to a degree that it's hard to express.
This is important.
Shabana Mahmood is laying out plans for more asylum seekers to come to the UK using a 'Community Sponsorship Scheme' but very few people know what this entails.
I am so angry not just for the reasons that are clearly obvious to everyone but also due to the fact that this was all laid out in the Fabian Society's publication 'Lawful & Fair' in June 2023. Keep in mind that almost our entire cabinet are Fabians including Shabana.
It says: '“In addition, the UK should create a single ‘community welcome’ route to enable communities to sponsor refugees. The UK Refugee Service would be responsible for administering a single, uncapped, additional, sponsorship route. This community welcome route would allow citizen groups (including faith, charity and community groups as well as universities and employers) to sponsor refugees, building on existing schemes including the community sponsorship scheme and the Homes for Ukraine scheme, but not restricted to any particular nationality. Sponsorship also has the benefit of injecting community voice into the system and improves integration outcomes.”
This means that, for example, Mosques could make use of that uncapped sponsorship route to bring in as many 'asylum seekers' as they choose to sponsor. No doubt with shady foreign funding. Then the government would call that 'integration' because they had integrated into the Muslim 'community'.
And it says:
“A community-based welcome strategy would fit and move in lockstep with a new national refugee policy (for example, requiring a minimum level of refugee resettlement in all local authorities) and with a single community welcome sponsorship scheme for all nationalities, as outlined above, but encompassing all new arrivals.”
Got that? 'A minimum level of refugee resettlement in all local authorities'.
The document also makes the case for:
- The right to work for all asylum seekers after 6 months
- Making all kinds of migrants including asylum seekers British Citizens as soon as possible
- Building an industry out of asylum seeking within a 'UK Refugee Service' with 1,000 staff
- An online portal for applications from Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc
- Speeding up approvals and blanket approving claims from certain countries
What this means, as is so clearly obvious to us all is that this government, from before its first day in office has been following a playbook that has been decades in the making.
They are not listening. They are not reacting to events or changing course based on evidence. They are locked in and utterly convinced of their righteousness. They simply do not care what you think or what evidence exists.
This is echo chamber thinking at its worst. Groups convincing themselves that they are correct and then gradually, collectively working their way into positions of leadership in order implement their master plan.
I covered this 'Lawful & Fair' document in quite some detail in a youtube video last year. I'll link that in the comments.
The Fabian Society is not just a think tank. It's a network. A belief system. A cult.
This will be looked back on and studied in the future as a political disaster of civilisational proportions. That's if it's us that get to write the history books.
I'm utterly disgusted by what our political system has produced. Tone deaf, ill informed, philosophically infantile, economically illiterate, virtue signaling dim wits.
Keir Starmer isn’t resigning.
The WEF aligned globalists are replacing puppet #37 with puppet #38.
The destruction of Western civilization will continue as planned.
My IOS updated overnight and I woke up to my phone asking me to upload my ID so it can age verify me.
NO!
British Gov is overreaching beyond comprehension.
This is what the social ban is about. They want to control, track, and trace ALL OF US.
No levantó inversión. Solo resolvió un problema que molestaba a millones de personas.
A veces el cambio real lo hace una sola persona que se cansa de las cosas como están.

We’ve learnt some bad news that Donny Strathie passed away in Boston on Sunday. He had a ticket for the Morocco game, but never got the chance to realize his World Cup dream.
It would mean a lot to his family if we could organise a minutes applause in the 76th minute of the Morocco game.

It’s amazing how quickly the gatekeepers of culture decide what’s acceptable.
In June, every logo becomes a rainbow. Every stadium, every jersey, every broadcast gets a political message.
But put a Bible verse on your cap? Suddenly that’s “controversial.”
Put an American slogan front and center? Suddenly that’s “divisive.”
The NFL had no problem painting political movements in the end zone. Major League Baseball has no problem turning every June into a month-long corporate activism campaign.
Yet the moment someone wants to celebrate faith, patriotism, or traditional values, we’re told those things don’t belong in sports.
Funny how the people preaching inclusion always seem to have a very specific list of viewpoints they’re willing to include.
If rainbow logos belong in sports, then so do Bible verses.
If political messages belong in sports, then so do messages celebrating faith, family, and country.
The double standard isn’t subtle anymore. EVERYONE sees it.
