Subject: Complaint against Saravana Selvarathnam Store (Pallavaram Radial Road) for selling worm-infested groundnuts under their brand name, resulting in food poisoning, and subsequent hostile behavior by store management.
1. Product & Purchase Details
Product Name: Raw Groundnut (packed under store's own brand name)
Quantity Bought: Two packets of 0.5 kg each (Total: 1 kg)
Purchase Location: Saravana Selvarathnam Store, Pallavaram Radial Road, Chennai
Purchase Date: First week of July 2026
Packing Date (as per label): 14th June 2026
Expiry Date (as per label): 14th September 2026
2. Incident & Health Issues
The Incident: Last week, we opened one of the groundnut packets to prepare chutney. Unfortunately, we did not notice the contamination beforehand.
Health Impact: Shortly after consuming the chutney, my family members and I suffered from severe stomach pain and diarrhea.
Discovery of Contamination: Suspecting the groundnuts, we checked the second, unopened packet. We were shocked to find it completely filled with live worms, despite the expiry date being September 2026 (two months away). I have attached a photograph of this unopened, worm-infested packet as evidence.
3. Negligent Response by Store Management
Date & Time of Visit: 16th July 2026, between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM.
Store Reaction: As a loyal customer of four years, I visited the store to alert them to this serious health risk. However, both the 4th-floor store in-charge and the ground-floor manager completely rejected my health concerns.
Hostile Behavior: They refused to listen to my complaint and even denied a simple replacement for the worm-infested packet. When I asked to escalate the matter to higher management regarding food safety, they behaved highly unprofessionally and aggressively, stating that I could not escalate the issue beyond the store in-charge.
4. Redressal & Action Requested
Given the serious health risks to the general public, I kindly request the Tamil Nadu Food Safety Department to take the following actions:
1. Facility Inspection: Inspect the food packing and storage facility of the Saravana Selvarathnam Store in Pallavaram to check their hygiene and quality control standards.
2. Product Quality Testing: Conduct a quality check on the store-branded raw groundnuts currently on their shelves.
3. Strict Legal Action: Take strict action against the store for selling contaminated food with misleading/incorrect expiry dates.
4. Compensation: Assist me in securing compensation from the store management for the health issues, and severe mental distress caused to my family.
I trust that the Tamil Nadu Government and the Food Safety Department will take swift action to protect public health and hold the retailer accountable.
Sincerely,
Anvith Bala
Under the lorry and other commercial vehicles there are lot of discarded liquor bottles and wastes which the corporation workers are not able to clean. Auto drivers put soil to make it easier to park autos in the platform. @chennaicorp@ChennaiRains@praddy06@CHN_Metro_Water
The lorry is parked in the same location for the past 3 years as for as I know. We are not able to remove that. Even traffic police person who came after the residents complain told us to make complain in the media. @ChennaiTraffic@Udhaystalin
@MyIndusIndBank how to create a new password? I am struggling for the past few days. Can you specify what’s wrong with that password as per your password policy?
@MyIndusIndBank Password has 16 characters. Contains at least 1 number. Combination of upper and lower case present. Special character @ present. No name /common sequence. Not same as last 3 passwords, since randomly created by browser. @MyIndusIndBank could you please enlighten me what’s wrong?
@airtelindia@Airtel_Presence I told the customer care executive that I will not pay the bill for the period since the network is not working. But no action from your side either to resolve the issue or disconnect broadband.
Please waive off the bills and disconnect.
@airtelindia@Airtel_Presence You have given me severe mental agony. Added to that, I am being charged with monthly bills for the period when the network is dead. I am getting repeated calls also to pay the bills.
@airtelindia@Airtel_Presence No technician had visited for the issue, since I raised first in February 12th. It seems they know they can’t resolve the issue, so they chose to resolve only in your database. Not in reality.
@airtelindia@Airtel_Presence I have called customer care executives about this issue multiple times. Their only reply is, it will be resolved in 24-48 hrs. I have asked to disconnect, but they are not helping. They say that they will resolve with high priority. But nothing happens
@airtelindia@Airtel_Presence my Airtel broadband network is not working since 12-02-2024. Repeated complaints to customer care didn’t give any solution. Without visiting the site, your technician’s are closing the complaint as “ issue resolved “.
@Airtel_Presence your service is pathetic. Slot allotted after 3 days for network issue! Such a poor service network with lack of manpower. But new connection is provided within few hours of request. Your priority is only new connection @airtelindia
@Airtel_Presence I had raised another issue where broadband and landline both non functioning for the past few days. Engineer is yet to be allotted even after 4 days! Definitely this will give bad name to @airtelindia. Hope you strengthen your service network.
