@takeusbacktoCHN@shawnxyny@YanzhongHuang Tbh, there is no way for China to lower down their standards, after all, China has fewer medical resources per person compared to the West.
BUT, let international students in, if they all follow rules and mandatory quarantine, no matter how strict. Should let them in.
@zhang_heqing With all due respect, if international students fully vaccinate with approved vaccines, perform 14/21 days quarantine, follow rounds of PCR tests, receive treatment if positive, etc.
What is the reason not let them in?
@RezaullBD@takeusbacktoCHN That's not right. For most time I think China is doing well on the pandemic, but a lot policies like these are too rough.
Knowing somewhere to do sorts of petitions?
@RezaullBD@takeusbacktoCHN unfortunately not, fully vaccinated people will still transmit virus asympotmatically, percentage below certain threshold isn't an evidence to open boarder freely and protect all. But I agree, anyone follow pcr tests and quarantine should grant acess!
@takeusbacktoCHN If foreign students accept a mandatory quarantine and follow all covid rules like others, I see a lot overseas entries (Chinese/non-chinese), I don't see why not issue these students a study visa.
@SunsetOstriches@Jerry_grey2002 Sorry for the loss. I believe most Japanese people wouldn't want wars. But seeing an aggressive war flag still waving at harbour from the old time, must be difficult. As a Chinese, really empathise with you.
@evolving_string@PeterDaszak On the hunch from the first batch of witnesses, I also suspect the same. Possibly somewhere in Southeast Asia, probably some rural areas around Wuhan, more likely, S. China provinces, or border areas between S. China and neighbours where need more laws and orders.
@evolving_string@DwinnersCovi@PeterDaszak Well said. I am from Wuhan, and I was there from 21st January, 2019, until...took me 4 months and half to get out. 4 tests in a row.
Was also wondering the link between Wuhan and bat, from what I learnt, I know no people in Wuhan mingling with bats. Still working on it!
The maps show "that a SARSr-CoV is most likely to spill over in those hottest of the hotspots - the S. China province of Yunnan & neighbouring countries like Laos, Myanmar & Vietnam. Thatโs also where you should look for the bat reservoirs of Sars-CoV-2 " https://t.co/uinMo2bNaK
@PeterDaszak@ScienceMagazine@sciencecohen@kakape Another great article shared by Peter and Science. Thanks!
Btw, Wuhan Huanan Market is between my parents' old house and my secondary school :) I cycled home (10 mins) every day, till my ankle fracture at age of 17. (from playing football, not cycling or Wuhan Huanan Market:))

Beautiful graphics about bats and viruses. Not all combinations, but explaining some of the reasons why we see bat borne zoonoses. In part: a numbers game, their ancient evolutionary history, and their lifestyles clashing with ours @PeterDaszak https://t.co/QsszXm5mYQ
@InvestmentBay@AndrewB55745504@omiotaco@WHO Although I have only lived in 3 different countries, but Being able to understand languages from different sources and platform, I think I understand what you mean. Human beings are still rather primitive animals, so much to learn.
@InvestmentBay@omiotaco@WHO I hear you mate...Xinjiang rubbish "satellite" images are the second biggest fabricated lie next to Powell wash powder in this century. I speak 6 languages, never seen such funny linguistic environment.
@ukinchina Well done Stephen! As a Chinese in the UK, embarrassing point: no locals jump. Years ago, they'd jumped; now, many "rescue scandals" as "PengCi(็ขฐ็ท)", faking dangers/blackmailing rescuers. Cost of saving ppl in China is high. The Chinese SHOULD think about what's going wrong!
