NEW: Local leaders across Texas are saying the quiet part out loud: Abbott’s “pause” on Flock cameras and data centers will be quickly undone if he wins re-election.

Abbott fought to bring data centers and Flock cameras to Texas– and even his fellow Republicans know his sudden opposition to them is an election-year stunt.

Folks have insulted:

My Southern drawl.
My loc’d hair.
My clothes.
My shoes.
My intelligence.
I’ve been called a ghetto Black
b!t€h.
Now @JDVance says I don’t belong and should leave the very country my ancestors helped build.

This is a lot y’all. It is.

It was a term created by Walter Byers, the first head of the NCAA. He created the term to protect the NCAA from having to pay disability payments to players.

There was a player named Ray Dennison, who died from a head injury while playing football. Dennison’s widow filed for worker’s comp and death benefits. To avoid paying out and creating a precedent, student athlete was born.

This is central to why the NCAA won’t consider players to be employees — avoiding accountability and liability.

Property taxes have gone up 85% under Greg Abbott. I have never, not once, voted to raise Texans’ property taxes.

[Jemele Hill @jemelehill]

This administration is never beating the allegations.

rape an unconcious woman behind a dumpster? you have a bright future.

gang rape a woman with your teammates? you'll still get drafted to the NHL.

drug & rape a student with your frat bros? just write an essay.

say 'free palestine'? expelled & charged with acts of terrorism.

⚠️ Tens of thousands of Texas voters are missing from the voter rolls after the state failed to process their voter registration applications properly.

But it doesn’t mean they won’t be able to vote in the midterms: https://t.co/ieca1V2QtI

First, I stopped responding to people I don’t respect.

Then, I stopped trying to explain myself to people who benefit from misunderstanding me.

Finally, I stopped giving my attention to people I wouldn’t choose to sit across from at dinner.

Once you remove the noise, there really isn’t much left to respond to… because the people who matter aren’t the ones doing goofy shii.
