With Samurai - and his work at large - @LupeFiasco allows me to find my own image in the mirror of his imagination. It gifts my skewed body the possibility of balance - a balance that is only to be found in craft. As a writer and student of the pen, I cannot thank him enough.
Each spin of @LupeFiasco's Samurai album pulls me into a cycle of death & resurrection at the hands of timeless genius. Put seasonal controversies aside for a moment and bear with me, because this is more important. This is about craft, the force that renders all else irrelevant.
Speaking to something without speaking about it is exactly where the power of timeless art lies. It allows for infinite cycles of resurrection, infinite versions of self - versions we have lived, versions we never will, versions we can only discover through the eyes of another.
