@davidubben A book called cobalt red from a couple years ago was a really eye opening look at the past and present of Congo. One of my favorite non fiction reads of recent years.
@RHULEROFNEB@On3@Brett_McMurphy@AriWasserman Matt rhule is 10-17 in conference play at Nebraska. That you aren’t advocating for him to be dead last speaks to the moribund state of the huskers program. This isn’t even celebrating mediocrity. It’s celebrating failure.
@Genetics56 Every so often, I remember it’s 2026 and fsu is still in the acc. Is that one guy on war chant still talking about fsu leaving and it being real and spectacular on the daily?
@OnlyTBeans@klseaboldt@ChrisCillizza@HunterBiden I think it is hard to believe, actually. Don’t know if you’ve read teppers book, but Hunter had a vested personal interest in seeing his father win for reasons beyond love of country. Remember, his pardon came months after Biden dropped out of the race.
@klseaboldt@ChrisCillizza@HunterBiden What am I missing? Biden’s determination to run in 24 despite all of the obvious signs he was too old is at least indirectly responsible for the train wreck we are in. I’m still pissed at his family for not doing more to make him see reason.
@cdotharrison To me this was the biggest sign of the true unseriousness of the tech side. They waited until the court order to monitor the phone? So from March until June he could have been betting on his phone and you wouldn’t even know? Yeah you were serious about helping with his addiction
@RossDellenger The most shocking thing about this is them saying they installed the monitoring software on his phone this week. That sorsby wouldn’t or didn’t do that until a judge required it is just another reason to roll your eyes at this bullshit.
@Mort_CFA25@JeffHeinrich1@dennisdoddcbs 1. He knew before he made his first bet what the punishment would be. So again, can he be addicted before ever doing the activity? And then other than ncaa trouble, what hardship has the gambling caused him? Is he an addict?
@Mort_CFA25@JeffHeinrich1@dennisdoddcbs bilas said it’s unlikely he will win at trial and why an appeal should be successful and I agree. He was told before he ever made a bet what the consequences would be and did it anyway. Can you be addicted to something you’ve never done?
@Mort_CFA25@JeffHeinrich1@dennisdoddcbs Is he an addict? In three years, he gambled a total of less than 2% of what he gets this year in NIL. Ironically, He did not seek treatment or admit his “addiction” until he was caught and claiming he was addicted became the only way to continue his college career.
@spursttu@TomFornelli But most gambling addicts I know are gambling way more than 2% of one years income over 3 years. We don’t know if he’s really an addict, we do know he’s found a loophole that makes it to his advantage to say he is. So spare me the pity for him.
@spursttu@TomFornelli I’ll say what no one else has said that I’ve heard. Sorsby gambled a total dollar amount that is less than 2% of his nil money for one season. He has to claim he’s addicted otherwise he doesn’t have a legal argument. Tech wants sorsby to get all the benefit of the doubt.
