@David_Moscrop What is so wrong with this? I mean, if the data was aggregated manually before and now it's done automatically then something like this is possible. What am I missing here?
@Strife212 I agree with your point that one can technically and slowly run an LLM by hand, but why are you so sure that what happens behind your thoughts and consciousness isn't also a series of substrate-independent steps (e.g., atoms colliding and bonding)?
@unsorsodicorda For people whose career and sense of self worth depend on solving hard math problems, this is of course hard to swallow. Old professors at my Uni still claimed "it's just statistics"
@DanielWhiteson I think what they meant is that math and physics will become a bit like chess. Yes you can be curious and devote a large amount of time to it and find meaning there, but AI will explore a larger and larger portion of the map and humans simply won't catch up.
