One thing that excites me about AI is that my children might live well beyond 100. I can barely imagine how far we will extend longevity once AI cures cancers and other health issues that limit life expectancy.

I agree with @dhh that the future is brighter with AI than without it.

I don’t believe the doomsday claims that SaaS is dead. If the cost and barrier of developing software fall, SaaS prices will fall too.

It’s like movies and music. In the ’90s and ’00s, bootlegs were easy to copy and distribute. Then Netflix, Apple Music, and others made streaming so convenient and affordable that people abandoned illegal downloads. Low-price convenience made paying worthwhile again.

The same will happen with software. Adobe, for example, may become a $5 subscription to survive in an economy where creating software is easy. Their maintenance costs should also drop sharply, so why not lower the price?

Make SaaS convenient and affordable, that’s where we’re headed!
