Many thanks to PRI Ward 8 staff, porters, anaesthetic & theatre staff, physios & Mr McMurrich for their expert & compassionate care 💟

Unpaid carers, disabled people and others with lived experience of social care will have a say on local services from September after @ScotParl regulations tabled by Social Care Minister @ThomasCArthur came into force.

Since I was appointed Social Care Minister I've engaged with & listened closely to people with lived experience. Today I'm pleased to confirm that I've introduced legislation to extend voting rights on IJBs to members with lived experience. Much still to do but an important step.
Privileged to be afforded the opportunity to share unpaid carer lived experience insights at today’s #NCSForum2025, in addition to hearing colleagues experiences and insights.
Thank you to the Chair, Susan Douglas-Scott, organisers, attendees & participants

Excellent discussion at the 4th National Care Service Forum today - themes of collaboration, unpaid carer dignity & recognition, importance of appropriate information sharing shine through.
@Protect_Wldlife@rickygervais I’m so sorry the hear how let down you feel. Would it be worthwhile going back to your gp and requesting support from the practice? In addition Macmillan or Maggie’s Centre https://t.co/LcGv0m8GIy could help 💟
Still 0 enquiries 😢 we cannot understand this. He’s a lovely lad, can you please share? There must be someone for Brodie, all his details are on our website. 🙏🏼
Compounded by repeated failure to update by telephone as promised - day after day - is the stress of patients waiting for information from clinicians not recognised - prehabilitation? - surely NHS Scotland can do better than this
It’s not good when you’re prepped, gowned & hat on & the anaesthetist won’t take you to theatre.
When already delayed cancer surgery is postponed because the detailed information you gave at pre-op assessment hasn’t been recorded in case notes 🤦♀️
@MatrixMysteries I read & see many examples of Amish animals, particularly horses, being badly treated then cast aside for slaughter when they are no longer able to pull ploughs or buggies. This callous treatment is not in keeping with religious principles & should be called out.
