@lessin , interested in your new Torah agent output. I was similarly inspired several months ago to make 2 Torah podcasts - https://t.co/KMKLQsvmom, and https://t.co/8eq22vbAAH. Would be interested to learn more of your setup.
@MoreorLessPod , in the recent episode, you discussed the relative size of a trillion compared to a billion.
one easy way to make this more understandable is to translate it to seconds:
1M = 11 days
1B = 31 years
1T = 31,000 years
@MoreorLessPod , one idea to amp up the gamification of it is the song-identification:
Pick 3 actual popular songs.
Use udio to make 3 AI-generated pop songs.
Play 30 seconds of each.
Have @lessin guess which are real.
@mattyglesias@mattyglesias , this is a fantastic chart. What is the source of the underlying data?
Also, what is categorized under Health outside of Medicare? Or "income security" outside of Social Security?
Seeing the underlying data labelled would be the best answer to these qs.
I'd rather we not change times for 4 months of the year... but if we have to, why not make the change on Nov 1? The day after Halloween would be a great day to have an extra hour of sleep - far better than the day after 11/4.
@Jake_Browning00 Thank you for articulating these counterpoints. While I don’t agree with all of them, I definitely thought of child labor laws and similar market-restraining mechanisms that are key to enjoying a human-livable market economy — which did seem absent from @pmarca’s manifesto.
I’ve found it fascinating that, as @theallinpod has turned more political, I’ve actually found it less and less interesting. Instead More Or Less (@lessin, @jlessin, @brit, @davemorin) has become more interesting by hewing more closely to discussing technology and its impact.
To be clear, even if he doesn’t have experience, I believe his opinions are still valid. However, it does change the relative weight I put behind his opinions.

Does @DavidSacks have a background in foreign policy? I’m curious because on the @AllInPodcast he speaks forcefully on it. I’m wondering if he has some experience in the area.
It’s clear that he’s done a lot of reading about it and talking to a range of people.

@all_in_tok@DavidSacks@theallinpod@friedberg , thank you for calling out the peculiarity in recent topics - calling for less government action when it’s shackling the free market but more government action when something goes wrong. It has felt remarkably like “speaking out of both sides of the mouth” recently.
