Trial Traffic Signals🚦 remove on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.
ESSO Bunk and Pioneer Mill junctions on the Avinashi Road have reverted to the U-turn system as trial traffic signals installed in both places led to heavy congestions.

Coimbatore wears many feathers in its crown — industrial powerhouse, education hub, entrepreneurship capital… and now, proudly emerging as India’s Retirement Capital.
Not by accident. But because the city offers what truly matters: peace, healthcare, affordability, safety, community, and dignity in life’s golden years.
Some cities help you build a life. Coimbatore helps you enjoy one.

Why do people speed?
Most say they want to reach faster, save time, or get somewhere on time. But the truth is, the time you save on the road can often be saved elsewhere—by waking up a few minutes earlier, reducing idle time, planning better, or starting your journey sooner.
Don't try to make up for lost time by speeding.
Go slow. Save lives. Save your future.
Remember, you are not alone. You have a family. Someone is waiting for you. Someone depends on you. Every time you press the accelerator recklessly, you are not only deciding your own fate—you are also deciding the fate of innocent people sharing the road with you.
Speed may feel thrilling for a moment. But life may not be if an accident leaves you with permanent injuries or disabilities. A damaged vehicle can be repaired or replaced. The human body cannot.
"If wealth is lost, nothing is lost. If health is lost, everything is lost."
Reach home safely. A few minutes late is always better than never arriving at all. @coimbatore
As the Tamil Nadu Assembly begins, this is what every Coimbatore MLAs and Ministers—irrespective of party—should unite and fight for.
Coimbatore is the economic capital of Western Tamil Nadu, serving over 75 lakh people across the Coimbatore–Tiruppur region. With 50,000+ MSMEs, a strong manufacturing and export base, a growing IT ecosystem, world-class educational institutions and a culture of entrepreneurship, Coimbatore has the potential to become South India's most livable, sustainable and globally competitive metropolitan region.
No new announcements. No new foundation stones. Just complete what has already been promised and planned.
Resolve the Airport land acquisition issues once and for all. Complete all pending flyovers, 6-lane Bypass, Kovai Metro, Vellalore Integrated Bus Terminus, airport expansion, Multimodal Logistics Park and all approved road widening projects.
Improve airport, railway, suburban rail, Metro and city bus integration through a Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority and a Comprehensive Mobility Plan. Eliminate traffic bottlenecks at major junctions instead of managing congestion with temporary measures.
Strengthen CUDA and implement the Master Plan with scientific urban planning, planned growth corridors, better land-use planning and future-ready infrastructure instead of unplanned urban expansion.
Complete underground drainage, stormwater drainage and drinking water projects. Rejuvenate the Noyyal River, restore lakes, tanks and wetlands, scientifically remediate the Vellalore dumpyard, improve waste management, increase green cover and protect the Western Ghats to ensure development goes hand in hand with nature.
Strengthen logistics infrastructure, create industrial land banks, improve FSI and planning policies, simplify approvals, attract more IT, GCCs, manufacturing, exports and investments, and position Coimbatore as South India's leading manufacturing, engineering and innovation hub.
Adopt AI-enabled governance, make every government service online, transparent and time-bound, eliminate middlemen, delays and corruption, and build a citizen-first administration.
Strengthen healthcare, public services, sports infrastructure, affordable housing, women's safety, anti-drug enforcement and technology-driven policing to improve the quality of life for every citizen.
Coimbatore has become one of Tamil Nadu's strongest growth engines through the resilience of its entrepreneurs, industries and people. It now deserves infrastructure, governance and political support that match its economic contribution.
The vision is simple: a clean, connected, investment-friendly, environmentally sustainable and globally competitive Coimbatore. Complete the pending commitments first—because execution matters more than announcements. @CMOTamilnadu@VigneshTvkCbe@tvksampathcbe@Kanimozhi_tvk@SriGiriPrasath@TVKVijayHQ@tvkCovaihq@coimbatore@ciaindofficial
After 20+ years of delays and struggle, #CoimbatoreAirport expansion is once again #stuck at the final hurdle. Nearly all land acquisition has been completed and handed over, but objections to the boundary wall are now preventing progress and delaying AAI's tender process. @CMOTamilNadu, please urgently resolve this issue and ensure this critical project is not held hostage after two decades of waiting. #CoimbatoreAirport #Coimbatore #TamilNadu
Banning banners is the right step, but enforcement shouldn't rely only on fines. No banners should be allowed on roads, footpaths, trees, medians, EB poles, bridges, road corners, junctions, or any public property. Advertising should be permitted only in Corporation-approved locations through an online permit system. Printers must print only after verifying the Corporation approval and include the permit number or QR code on every banner. Real estate companies and all advertisers should produce the approval before printing, with the advertiser, printer, and installer held jointly responsible. The growing practice of erecting permanent MS/steel advertising frames at road corners, junctions, and turning points should also be stopped and existing unauthorized structures removed, as they obstruct visibility and misuse public spaces. Prevent the problem at the source, not just after it appears. @CbeCorp@coimbatore
High time we revise the FSI for chennai and tier 2 cities in TN immediately.
The land prices have shot up ,
High urbanisation has happened , increasing FSI is the only way forward at least across the main roads
