Is that why you put Dido Harding is in charge of track and trace at NHS improvement? How is being on the board of the Jockey Club which was responsible for Cheltenham Gold Cup and COVID superspreader four day festival in March equip her for this vital role? @MattHancock
Can we not go crazy this week? The virus is still out there. Still 8,000 infections a day, still 300+ dying a day, Test and Trace still needs time to get going. This is no joke. The virus is still brutalising the lives of many of us. Let’s take things slowly and with care.

Prof Van Tam showing the backbone that we have desperately needed to see over the past week
“In my opinion the rules are clear and they have always been clear...they are for the benefit of all...and they apply to all”
Please RT if you agree with him
The UK has more deaths from Coronavirus than Argentina, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Austria, Greece, Norway, Finland, South Africa, Pakistan, India, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Ireland, Portugal, Denmark, Germany, Canada and Taiwan combined.
Had some very interesting letters sent to me from constituents of Tory MPs responding to their complaints about Johnson/Cummings scandal. Even the ones that include the cut and paste ‘defence’ sent by No 10/whips find ways of condemning. More follows as we used to say 1/2
Last night we turned our backs on Boris Johnson. 🚫
We held a 237 second silence: one second for every dead doctor, nurse and carer. 😶

R rate is still ‘close to 1’ here. Across the Irish Sea, it’s between 0.4 and 0.5 - half our rate - and yet Ireland is unlocking a lot more slowly than we are. Is Britain immune from risk or is Johnson so desperate to change the story that he doesn’t care about a second spike?
I'm normally amazed by how the @dailystar manages to fill the front page with news about some celebrity I've barely heard of during major news stories.
Johnson and his colleagues are still trying to pretend this is a Westminster bubble story that others don't care about.
A number of opposition leaders (not Labour) to PM: “There is deep and genuine concern across our communities that the events surrounding the conduct of your chief adviser, Mr Dominic Cummings, have severely undermined trust and confidence in public health advice.”
Just did @radionz - first remarks from NZ interviewer ‘we are watching what is happening in your country with total incredulity....’ Do not underestimate how much damage @BorisJohnson is doing to U.K. standing in the world.
So. @BorisJohnson just said that ‘most people would accept and agree’ with what Dominic Cummings did.
Please answer and retweet.
Do you accept and agree with what Dominic Cummings did?
I have two children. On the first day of lockdown I got sick with covid. I was terrified and alone. People were still panic buying. Support systems weren't yet in place. My two children got sick. It was scary. But. Leaving the house was never an option. Fuck you @BorisJohnson
@JimMFelton@cabinetofficeuk Do they mean this tweet?
Or was it one from Johnson wishing everyone #EidMubarak?
Can't find that one anywhere, didn't get mentioned at the Daily Briefing either 🤔
It’s that time again. A mumpsimus (16th century) is someone who refuses to budge/insists that they are right, despite clear evidence that they are wrong. Plural: mumpsimuses.
