A fundamental problem here, though, aside from the obvious choking of native species, is that the majority of people would look at that view and assume the area is 'healthy' because it's green. Ecological/natural history studies should be a core subject, taught to all.
Something big happened in my life this week.
Some of you know about my sister Clare. She's a kickass human with Rett syndrome.
Rett stole her ability to talk & use her hands as a toddler. Now 43, she can't stand & can't communicate.
BUT - science has just played a blinder.

As this @Ageing_Better report shows, ageism clearly causes deep and lasting harm to people and society, directly and indirectly, exacerbating social divisions and inequalities and damaging our economy.

This is so relevant to volunteering as well. Older people are being urged to return to the workforce and need to feel they belong. Many can't return but want to volunteer and are valuable in that role and without them we would be lost in many ways!
A great way to explore Greensand Country this summer is to take a short walk around some of the villages. The area’s idyllic villages contain various historical sites, as well as boutique shops, restaurants, cafes & pubs.

It's LoveParks week, and this year we're looking at ways to make our parks and green spaces safer. Being able to find your way around is essential. Displaying maps at entrances and central points and ensuring signs are clean and up-to-date can make people feel more confident.
It would take the average UK worker more than 32,000 years to make what British Gas just made in 6 months.
This is a cost-of-greed crisis — and millions of people are paying the price.
There is an alternative: bring energy into democratic public ownership!
