Interests include software development and deployment, higher ed, Calvinism and comedy. That sentence is not missing an Oxford comma. Toss in Politics.
@elonmusk@grok is this 100% accurate or are the Democrats also concerned about voter suppression given how much more difficult it can be for people with name changes (primarily women) to get IDs such as real id?
@ScottAdamsSays@joelpollak I’m a left-leaning moderate and over the years have loved Dilbert comics, Scott’s books, and tuning into his livestreams (or videos after). I often disagree, but I like learning the perspective of others. I’m so sorry for his current medical crisis.
@PaulVanderKlay AI providing answers to questions will replace some of this. We should probably invest in overtly perspectival AI (of course all AI IS perspectival, whether it says it is or not)
@elonmusk@grok I asked for quoted humor that might play to both sides of a schism in my denomination. It called me “brother.” I asked what demographics it attributed to me, and it was correct with ~half. It thought I was a conservative male. Most choices & adjustments were not funny but grok is
@YouTubeTV@Disney@ABC Thanks for the option. I pay a lot for YouTubeTV, and I justify it to the hubby annually, along with many other subscriptions. I won’t be adding any, d.v. I also don’t like getting out of “5 day trials.” I’ll try to be patient, but please figure this out soon!
@ScottAdamsSays Nudges 1) late night shows & guests are advertising for all else on the network. They bring in $ in multiple ways. 2) H1B folks who have worked for companies for years should be grandfathered in not booted out. 3) Some companies hire H1B to pay them less, not due just to talent.
@RandyFeenstra I checked, and I’m quite sure that Biden did not adopt a Green New Deal agenda. I also think you know that, so I expect better (from a fellow Frisian Calvinist). I also suspect you can see just how ugly this bill is for some of “the least of these.” Can we do better?
@robkhenderson@JeremyKonyndyk When the academy chose the name and definition of an info systems-related curriculum, they went with “computer science.” The people who would major in a machine are not the whole of it. Analogy: we need people in “the travel industry,” with schools sending us “auto mechanics.”
@PaulVanderKlay Pretty sure we know this, even if we don’t say it in a way men are aware they heard it. Have you ever been told “oh yes, I told you that, but you were not listening”? That’s my response to this.
@PaulVanderKlay@DrJohnVervaeke Fire is useful, but it can be dangerous, and there are nefarious uses of fire too. We pass knowledge and protections to each generation.
@RandyFeenstra It’s all well and good to pander to your R constituents, @RandyFeenstra, but please also be one of the good guys who doesn’t give Putin portions of Ukraine and withdraw from protecting Baltic and other countries. A fellow Frisian-Dutch-American is counting on you. Be a leader.
@ScottAdamsSays Date handling might seem simple, but there are many nuances. Know what epoch date, if any, is (or are!) used for date storage. Know what languages are being used. Know how nulls, spaces, and 0 are handled. This chart “feels” naive.
@ScottAdamsSays Oh, I see it, and I agree that there is a significant level of competence. It is a pattern of orchestrated chaos. What it seems to be lacking is heart.
