Subunit vaccines, for instance, only introduce a partial viral protein which may be grown up in bacterial or yeast cultures. They don't carry the replicating risk of live attenuated vaccines (eg. polio, TB).

To remain consistant, the object must also have equal volume. Thus it would be incredibly dense (~480x more than gold) and hence highly incompressible.
