Hello, I’m a possum. Probably, you don't know it, but I’m not here to cause any trouble. Actually, I’m here to help. Every night, I can eat around 2,000 ticks, along with insects that spread disease.
I also keep snake numbers in check, even the venomous ones. My body is tough enough to survive rattlesnake or coral snake bites, and yes, I even eat venomous snakes like they’re just another meal.
What’s more, my blood carries something special. Scientists have used it to develop treatments for snake bites that save lives. Without animals like me, there would be more pests, more snakes, and fewer cures for people.
So if you see me, please don’t hurt me. Let me raise my babies. I’m just out here doing my part to make the world a little safer for everyone.
I’m old enough to remember being able to turn on the TV and just watch sports without needing 4000 different apps to do so. Just like make it stop. I want to click the on button and just bam, sports right there. Is that too much to ask for? Isn’t technology supposed to make life simpler?
@depaulo_ryan @padspoker You and I had one Asian lady dealer in the $600 pokernews who couldn't count or do hardly anything right so we were trying to assist. Then you mentioned she was bad at her job and we were trying to help her improve, and she became personally offended as a result lmao it was rough
Property taxes should be outlawed.
And before someone says “aLL tAxEs sHouLd be ouTlaWed” yes, but property taxes in particular are the most unjust.
Every other tax is based on a share of a transaction. You always know upfront what this share will be.
Property taxes, on the other hand, are based on a “value” assessed by the same entity levying the tax. Your town or county literally “decides” what your property is worth (assessed value) and then demands a share of it, regardless of your ability to pay. Fail to pay and they take the property for themselves.
The model is actually worse than an unrealized gains tax; you aren’t just paying the tax on the gain, you are basically paying a percentage of whatever they decide the value is, every year in perpetuity.
That’s why it’s is the most unjust tax. That’s why it should be abolished.
Our side lost because of the intolerance of the tolerant left. If you don’t see that, then we will keep losing.
People didn’t vote for Trump, they voted against you.
They voted against your “if you don’t agree with me then you’re my enemy” mentality.
They voted against your need to have an echo chamber or risk being canceled.
They voted against being attacked for a difference in opinion.
They voted against being called pedos, racists, homophobes, Nazis simply for disagreeing with you.
They voted for the right to keep YOU out of decisions for their children.
They voted against having to walk on eggshells for fear of offending someone.
I don’t care who I piss off by saying this, step out of the tunnel vision and have a civil conversation with folks and take responsibility for your part in pushing people, who are on the fence, to vote against you.
@ihatecaloriezz So I randomly came across this post in my "extra tweets" section, and I just wanted to try and offer some advice. I see commenters, often meaning well, putting out some dangerous advice and information. Dealing with your body and your own mind can be tough, feel free to dm me.
"I've left the cult of science" she declared on her livestream sent over high-speed internet while speaking into a sound amplification device, staring at a laptop computer, and drinking from a vessel designed to keep hot and cold liquids at their original temperature.
