@akoratana@thisguyknowsai@pmarca I don’t know if I agree that AI makes decisions, at least in the most critical cases. I see it mostly just curating decision options and presenting those back to the human requester.
@Sean_readz I love these reviews. Definitely a fun book. I love how Weir makes his characters problem solve, one problem after another after another. Can’t wait for the movie!
@bryan_johnson Reading fiction - great, dense fiction. It’s such a luxurious indulgence. Even though I’m not rich, investing time in an activity like reading makes me feel incredibly wealthy. Currently in the latter half of ‘East of Eden.’ I look forward to it every evening.
@thatsKAIZEN What would change my mind is if Trump reached out to the Obamas both privately and publicly and apologized. You know, like a normal human being would. It’s insane that we automatically and collectively have no expectation of any decency from Trump.
@kinger007a@SpencerKlavan The Brothers Karamazov is a surprisingly easy and accessible read. Some classics are a slog to get through, but not that one.
@nihil0x@Saganismm I think you’re getting it something that I (non-physicist) have never understood about that demonstration. The reason the sun is bending the fabric is because it’s being pulled down by the earth’s gravity. But in space, it’s pushing up as much as it’s pulling down, right?
@JimmyJimStidham@elonmusk That first sentence could serve as the philosophical cornerstone of reform. If we simply ask ourselves, “What are the conditions and how do we protect them?” - that would lead us down a promising path.
