@tim_cook At this point, Apple owes me a freaking vacation. I drank the proverbial kool-aid and have been an @Apple user for years. However, this phone SUCKS. I hope you have spent as many hours on the update this weekend as I spent trying to find a fix & restarting the phone!
It was an honor and a privilege to have you and Dr. Carol Tolman attend. ♥️ Thank you for everything you do to empower educators to help children. (And for always sharing your research!) #internationaldyslexiaassociationKSMO#untileveryonecanread
What an honor to be a presenter over the next few days at the Kansas MTSS & Alignment Symposium on behalf of the Kansas State Department of Special Education .
The symposium kicked off with a gathering of @ReadingLeagueKS and The Kansas, Missouri branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
@liv2learn@ReadingLeagueKS Goodness! It was an honor and a privilege to have you attend. What a lovely and gracious human. ♥️ Thank you for everything you do to empower educators to help children. (And for always sharing your research!)
@DrMariaMurray1 The college separating from her is HUGE, but how long before the poison is out of the schools. And yes…joy mixed with anger is accurate.
“Dr. [Lucy] Calkins has stepped down as Director of the Reading and Writing Project…Dr. Calkins shares her expertise as a consultant through her own LLC. Teachers College is not involved in the operations or provision of services provided by Dr. Calkins in her LLC.” @ExcelinEd
"The turnaround in )Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana) has grabbed the attention of educators nationally, showing rapid progress is possible anywhere, even in areas that have struggled for decades with poverty and dismal literacy rates." https://t.co/Kmba2bmH2Z
“Most notably, we find that the two states in our sample with the earliest adoption of SOR legislation (Mississippi in 2013 and South Carolina in 2014) are the only two states to fully recover their pandemic learning losses by 2022.” 👏🏾👏🏾 @ExcelinEd@careads@Literacy_Wynns
“If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war.” …40 yrs later - still fighting the complacencies in the system. 🙄
Forty years ago, A Nation at Risk was issued—arguably the most influential report on schooling in U.S. history.
@rickhess99 offers 3 takeaways as we look back. #EWOpinion#RHSU https://t.co/icJ4mUE1hA
@karenvaites@ehanford@markseidenberg@CattsHugh@natwexler Sadly, when working as a dyslexia therapist, I am seeing ms & hs students who received all their pull out interventions during content-knowledge classroom time. It would have been nice to start knowledge during Kdg. That isn't an option for MANY students - prob. 20% of students.
