BALTIC ZENITH 2026 strengthened Allied short-range air defence readiness in Latvia.
Canadian and Swedish contingents from our Brigade joined troops from 🇱🇹🇪🇪🇱🇻🇺🇸 for live-fire training against aerial targets.
Thank you to the local population for the support.

On June 10, Col David Brassard assumed command of @NATOMNBLatvia from Col Kristopher Reeves at Ādaži. He is the third Canadian to lead the Brigade since 2024, as Canada continues to support #NATO deterrence and defence.
I presented state awards to warriors of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, handed over the Order of the Golden Star to the family of a fallen Hero who was awarded this title posthumously, and presented combat flags to the units.
The Unmanned Systems Forces are one of Ukraine’s greatest achievements – proof of Ukrainian leadership in technology and in saving lives through technology. The number of Russian targets struck thanks to our Unmanned Systems Forces already reaches hundreds of thousands per year, and over the past year alone – from June to June – it amounts to more than 356,000 Russian targets struck.
Thank you! I am proud of every man and woman serving in the Unmanned Systems Forces – from soldiers and sergeants to Magyar and all commanders. And we always remember every Ukrainian warrior who gave their life so that Ukraine can live and remain independent and strong.
Media and the public are invited to attend the burial of a Canadian soldier killed in the First World War, Private Albert (Bert) Henry Detmold, at Loos British Cemetery outside Loos-en-Gohelle, France: https://t.co/EeAmrLTMZe
We continue to apply Ukrainian long-range sanctions against Russian military facilities and the oil industry. In particular, last night Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingos struck a military plant in Cheboksary that supplies the occupier’s army with components for drones and missiles. I thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their precision! The Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region was also hit last night. The distance from the frontline is more than 900 kilometers. I am grateful to the warriors of the Special Operations Forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. The entirely just responses of the Security Service of Ukraine also reached two oil infrastructure facilities in the Vladimir region, at a distance of 700 kilometers. I thank everyone who fights and works for Ukraine!
Putin’s ‘three-day special military operation’ has now lasted longer than the entire length of the First World War.
Ukrainians have bravely resisted Russia’s invasion and Britain will always stand with you. #StandWithUkraine
The illegal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine is continuing.

Parading the regimental colour in front of the troops 💂♂️
A tradition that dates back to the reign of King Charles II 🫡
At the weekend we saw the colonel's review the last review before the actual Trooping The Colour this Saturday in front of King Charles III
Ukraine isn't testing the SKYNEX air defense system anymore. It's using it - and the results are rewriting Europe's defense orders.
All four SKYNEX systems pledged by Germany have been delivered and are operational. Developed by Rheinmetall, each unit combines a 35mm automated anti-aircraft cannon with radar-guided targeting and a networked battle management system - designed specifically to intercept Shahed-type drones before they reach their targets.
Ukraine's Air Force called the results "impeccable." Rheinmetall is now planning to scale production to 400 systems per year by 2027 - a decision driven directly by what Ukraine proved in combat.
The drone war created the demand. Ukraine created the proof of concept.
Thank you to @Empire_Club for hosting key discussions on Canadian Army modernization. Protecting Canadians, our values, and our sovereignty takes a whole of society effort. We’re moving urgently to ensure the people, capabilities, and structure required.
First stop in Canada for CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen: Ottawa! Jeremy attended the swearing-in of the new Governor General, met with Members of Parliament and talked about Artemis II with colleagues from the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Today’s installation day marks an important milestone for Canada and the beginning of a new chapter. 🍁
Governor General Arbour has officially been installed as Canada’s 31st governor general!
I met with President of Finland @alexstubb and Prime Minister of Norway @jonasgahrstore. I informed them about contacts at the leaders’ level in the E3–Ukraine format as well as our contacts with the American side.
Right now, all our partners note that Ukraine’s positions on the frontline are significantly stronger, and therefore the approaches in diplomacy, which we are now working to reinvigorate, must be based precisely on this. Unfortunately, Russia is trying to compensate for its enormous losses on the battlefield with strikes on our cities and communities, on civilian infrastructure. That is why air defense missiles are our top priority. And we discussed how to secure additional supplies for Ukraine right now, as well as efforts to develop a European anti-ballistic missile system.
I am grateful to Alex and Jonas, and to the people of Finland and Norway, for their steadfast assistance and support. We appreciate that our agreements are being implemented.
