When I was 10 years old, another 10 year old boy from this refugee camp in Gaza stayed at my house for a little less than a year, in order to get surgery on his leg. Him and his friends (all 9-10 years old) were shot at while going to school. He was lucky to only get shot through one leg and out the other, while his other friend was shot in the head and killed.
He came to America by himself as a 10 year old to get surgery. He enjoyed every second of safety and luxury, specifically really enjoyed watching WWE with me and my brothers.
After surgery and a short trip outside of his normal life in an occupied, open air prison, he returned back home.
Since then he has lived through bombing after bombing, year after year, and unfortunately every year I am finding myself messaging him making sure heโs alive.
I now have not heard from him since October 11th. Last I heard, he lives in this refugee camp that was carpet bombed by Israel yesterday and today in the tweet below. Now we wait to see if his name shows up on the list of all the murdered civilians next time itโs updated.
Day 25 of the terrorist regime of Israel bombing civilians across Gaza, with close to 10,000 people murdered. They, with zero remorse, admitted and attempted to justify bombing this refugee camp full of thousands of civilians yesterday on live TV, after killing hundredsโ then bombed it again today.
Since the beginning of October:
- Almost 4,000 children dead
- Over 1.2 million people displaced
And the bombing has not stopped. A documented, live genocide happening in real time and the world looks on with no shame. Including many โinfluencersโ or corporate puppets who have in the past jumped at any opportunity to attempt to showcase their morality and in genuine care for humans. Previously oppressed people needed their voices to speak up for them, these kids are too controversial to speak up for though.
