eGovern advises Heads of Government unlocking the full potential of economic cooperation. We created #DiplomacyAI, the first AI platform for Diplomacy.
Why are #Africa and the #Caribbean still divided by visas?
At #ACTIF2025 in #Grenada, PM @SkerritR of #Dominica called them “a colonial relic we continue to impose.”
These artificial #barriers divide us when we should be uniting, limiting cultural exchange, blocking #knowledge transfer, and making #trade and #investment a challenge.
PM @TerranceDrewSKN of St. Kitts and Nevis made a clear call for visa abolishment, and shared how an investment in St. Kitts was jeopardised because a businessperson could not get a visa to attend #ACTIF.
And as @AlikoDangote stressed, removing these barriers opens doors for #entrepreneurship and #investment between the regions.
It is time for deliberate #diplomacy to build real #AfriCaribbean integration and a visa‑free future.

In only three years, @afreximbank has taken #AfriCaribbean ties from aspiration to action.
13 of 14 independent @CARICOMorg states are now partners. $3B committed by the Bank. A $200M Africa Trade Centre in #Barbados. Billions secured for projects across #Grenada, #Suriname, #Jamaica & beyond.
This progress was not inevitable. Political will was vital, but it needed a #facilitator.
Under Prof. Benedict Oramah, the Bank has become that bridge: convening leaders at #ACTIF and its Annual Meetings, brokering #investment, financing critical projects, and building the institutional foundations to turn decades of rhetoric into real #partnerships.
Now it’s time to go further: air and sea links, a permanent #GlobalAfrica #Commission, a free trade area, and deeper collaboration in #technology, #education and #sport. We must ensure Africa and the Caribbean together take their place in the global #economy on their own terms.
We look forward to seeing incoming President Dr. George Elombi take this partnership to the next level.

At @afreximbank's #ACTIF2025, PMs @TerranceDrewSKN & @SkerritR made it clear:
When it comes to #AfriCaribbean cooperation, the role of our governments is to create the right environment for #trade & #investment to flourish organically.
Once those conditions are in place, our private sectors & local institutions will forge the connections that move people, #capital, goods & services across the #Atlantic.
#Diplomacy is central to this. We need visa‑free travel, tax treaties, MOUs & joint economic committees that build #trust, reduce friction & let #business do what it does best.
#GlobalAfrica #GlobalSouth #AAM2025 #Caribbean #Africa @_AfricanUnion@DNONews@SKNTimes@GlobalCaribbean@skngov@DominicaOPM
It’s time to cut out the middle‑man in #AfriCaribbean relations.
For too long, links between #Africa & the #Caribbean relied on the 'facilitation' of former colonial powers.
As @AfCFTA S-G @MeneWamkele pointed out at #ACTIF2025- this is a relic of dependence.
The economic, cultural & logistical bridges across the Atlantic must be built directly, with our own institutions, on our own terms.
@afreximbank@_AfricanUnion@CARICOMorg@papss_africa@AfDB_Group #AAM2025 #GlobalAfrica #DiplomacyAI
“It takes two hands to clap.” At #ACTIF2025, PM @miaamormottley made it clear that #AfriCaribbean cooperation is two‑sided.
One side’s political will is not enough. For real progress, governments on both sides of the Atlantic must coordinate #policy, remove barriers, and create the conditions for transatlantic #trade, #investment, and #mobility.
To make these hands meet, we need #diplomacy. That is why the upcoming #AU‑#CARICOM Summit in Addis Ababa matters- a launchpad for aligning priorities, identifying #opportunities, and building frameworks for meaningful long-term economic and cultural links.
Because in the end, a clap only happens when both hands meet. #DiplomacyAI #GlobalAfrica #GlobalSouth #Caribbean #Africa @CARICOMorg@_AfricanUnion@afreximbank
A landmark moment for #ClimateJustice - and a triumph of #ClimateDiplomacy.
In its largest case ever, the @CIJ_ICJ ruled that a “clean, healthy and sustainable environment” is a human right, affirming that all countries must act on #climatechange, with industrialised nations taking the lead.
This was not inevitable. It was the result of strategic, persistent Climate Diplomacy led by #SIDS.
@VanuatuUN, a nation of just 320,000 people, united its peers in @AOSISChair and secured support from 130+ countries to push this through the @UN General Assembly.
It joins other SIDS-driven wins: @miaamormottley's #BridgetownInitiative, PM Gaston Browne’s #MVI push, and the creation of a Loss & Damage Fund.
This is historic, but only a step. Scaling Climate Diplomacy is essential to turn these victories into real change.

Why is diplomacy so important for #AfriCaribbean growth?
Diplomacy lays the foundation for #integration. Whether countries are pursuing a double tax agreement, a currency union, freedom of movement or harmonised regulations, #diplomats make partnership possible.
Free movement of goods, services, #capital and people is essential for shared economic #growth.
Initiatives like @AfCFTA, @papss_africa, and new freedom-of-movement agreements in @CARICOMorg prove that progress is possible.
Scaling diplomatic efforts must be a priority to take integration to the next level. eGovern's #DiplomacyAI helps governments do exactly that.

Are borders holding back #AfriCaribbean growth?
At #AAM2025, Prof. @mahbubani_k reminded us that being unified economies has fuelled the rise of #China and #India.
Imagine if goods, people and #capital could move as freely across #Africa and the #Caribbean.
Progress is happening. Last week, #Kenya removed visa req's for most African & Caribbean states. Initiatives like @AfCFTA and @papss_africa are powering >$200B in intra-African trade.
But real #integration needs #diplomacy: aligning regulations, removing tariffs, and building cross-border partnerships. #DiplomacyAI helps governments do this at scale.

Barbados is already leading the world’s 'Climate Finance Diplomacy'. Now it should own it.
From Prime Minister @miaamormottley’s #BridgetownInitiative to debt-for-nature swaps and bonds with disaster clauses, Barbados is shaping the global agenda and setting the pace for real innovation.
It is time to cement that leadership. A Centre of Excellence for #ClimateFinance could position Barbados as the hub for designing and exporting development finance solutions made for the #GlobalSouth- products, #partnerships and policy tools that move the system.
eGovern's #DiplomacyAI can help scale that impact by connecting Barbados’ solutions to governments worldwide.

@NAkufoAddo at #AAM2025: “If you do not control the institutions of finance, you cannot finance your development.”
But Global South countries cannot fix a broken system alone. They must act together.
eGovern's #DiplomacyAI gives #GlobalSouth foreign ministries the tools to act together and reshape the multilateral finance system.

The rules of global multilateral finance were not written by the #GlobalSouth. But they can be rewritten through South-South #diplomacy.
#DiplomacyAI helps governments organise, coordinate, and lead a united front for reform, even with limited resources.
