My second dissertation study is out now in JAFD! ✅ 😬 In this paper, I use two different statistical approaches for modeling impulsivity and its relations to suicide ideation and internalizing/ externalizing symptoms among Native American youth in the ABCD Study.
Our paper on the efficacy of direct and indirect psychotherapy for suicidal ideation and suicide attempts in @JAMAPsych. Enormous effort led by @WvBallegooijen. This is a very important paper that should and will change clinical practice.
Important new study from some of our @CRISPatBrown colleagues, revealing that 20% of people in the US who died by suicide in one year had spent at least one night in jail in the year prior - bringing attention to community reentry as a critical moment for #SuicidePrevention.
Up to 41% of mental disorders are attributable to childhood maltreatment and over 1.8 million cases could be prevented if this maltreatment was eliminated.

Anxiety/stress was the #1 conversation topic in Crisis Text Line conversations last year, outpacing even relationships (#1 in 2022). For the first time, we were able to use natural language processing (NLP) to examine what's going on inside that anxiety/stress bucket... 1/3
Surging anxiety is often discussed in relation to macro-level events: geopolitics, climate change. These do come up, but what we found when we peered inside the anxiety/stress category was stuff much closer to home: once again, it's relationships, much of the way down... (2/3)
