I have come to know that when people do not have answers to certain things, instead of acknowledging that they do not have answers, they end up coming up with something to deceive in order to cover up their ignorance. This lead to deception that may be passed on from gen to gen.
We cannot believe a doctrine of God that cannot be explained by the things that are made in accordance with the Scriptures. Even our Lord Jesus Christ Himself had to use the things that are made to explain spiritual realities to us (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John).
This means His invisible attributes can be explained by the things that are made. His eternal power can be explained by the things that are made. His Godhead can be explained by the things that are made.
The Holy Scriptures tells us that God's invisible attributes, including His eternal power and Godhead are clearly seen and understood by the things that are made (Romans 1:20).
Hebrews tells us that (Hebrews 7:1-3): NKJV
-Melchizedek is King of Salem and Priest of the Most High God.
-He is without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life.
-He is made like the Son of God.
-He remains a priest continually
Moreover, in the Levitical priesthood, men received tithe but in the Melchizedek Priesthood, it is He who lives forever, who takes tithe (Hebrews 7:8). Therefore, Abraham did not pay tithe to a mortal man but an immortal man.
In addition, our Lord Jesus Christ cannot be compared to any earthly king or priest because His Kingship and Priesthood are not earthly but from above. Therefore, the order of His Kingship and Priesthood can only be from above.
3 reasons why Melchizedek could not have been an earthly king and priest.
The Melchizedek Priesthood is an eternal priesthood. One of the reasons Melchizedek, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings & blessed him could not have been an earthly king & priest.
Moreover, history of men tells us kingship and priesthood are always separate. Therefore, Melchizedek, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings could not have been an earthly king and priest.
