@SawyerMerritt@paulg The mainstream media lives & dies on ads.
To get attention it creates shocking memes.
Annual Ad Budgets:
F and GM = $5B
GOOGL = Bigger than F+GM
MSFT = also Bigger than F+GM
TSLA = $0 ad budget, so it gets bad shocking memes.
Once RoboCabs start, TSLA will need to advertise.
@PeterDiamandis@elonmusk Colleges/universities should be investing heavily in integrating AI into teaching.
However, they are used to living off grants.
All they have had to do in the past is show up for work.
No reason why all classes and tests could not be online and designed for multi media.
@chamath Democracy has a foundation (1st principle).
It is making a business model for a news journalist.
We failed & every generation before us has failed.
People only know what they are told.
We just turned news over to giant ad companies.
They live on clicks.
Shock memes => clicks
@GadSaad@elonmusk I disagree.
Democracies are founded on the idea that we can create a business model for news journalists. They present both sides of an issue to the public so we can discuss and vote.
We failed. We turned the news job over to ad companies.
They are paid by clicks => Hysteria.
@ChrisCamillo@LittGs@ryanTesling@MilkRoadMacro Anthropic just filed.
Unfortunately, the S-1 is confidential.
Looks like they beat OpenAI to the finish line.
Gotta be a real interesting S-1.
I think it would be a real good idea to do a research paper proving that no harm will come from intense up and down stream communications to space.
We get rain from fine dust in the atmosphere which is used to seed rain droplets because H2O forms in a sphere, which easily falls apart.
Effects of intense radiation on fine dust particles?
If no bending & stretching, then what about increased Rayleigh and Stokes Raman scattering?
@elonmusk The crazy thing is that Big Media got their license to broadcast the news by promising to report the news in an impartial way.
So why not go after their license and make them prove they are impartial?
@TeslaBoomerMama Possible Solution?:
We live in a market economy.
If you want kids, pay for them.
Families with kids under age 20 get $2,500/mo/child.
Limit 5. You make $1M+/yr = not eligible.
This replaces current write offs.
Instant baby boom.
.....and no - it has not been tried yet.
@chamath Why the failure?:
Our News Journalists have the business model of sales people for giant ad companies.
They are paid by clicks.
So they make up one shocking meme after another:
DEI, BLM, social justice, etc
Our schools repeat memes to get grants
...& it kills our schools.
@johnarnold Our French ancestor's letters going back to the 1700s say that at that time the family was considered wealthy. Family of 14 with home schooled children. Upon death of the head of the family, all the fortunes went to the eldest son. Nothing to others. They said that was common.
@kevinnbass@elonmusk Got it wrong.
There is no business model for journalism.
We designed a system where โnews journalistsโ are just sales employees of ad companies. Their job is to get max clicks.
Nothing else.
They do that by shocking the public.
Mission accomplished.
Need to fix the system.
@SawyerMerritt Me too.
I wear a baseball cap to save my scalp.
Itโs nice once in a while, so I am glad it is there and I do like to use it sometimes, but every day with a hot sun is a little too much.
@elonmusk@JaimeVelo@TheAliceSmith Wrong.
Judges were originally supposed to be impartial.
They even made statues of it.
Look at the Supreme Court.
When you have a political issue, you know how many of them will vote before the case is even heard.
Becoming politicians in black robes.
