Do not get into a fight this month.

This is the peak season for people crashing out, and it gets worse as the month goes on.

Here is the math.

2026 is a 1 UNIVERSAL YEAR.

Then the concept.

An inverse function is a machine that undoes another machine. If a function takes 2 and gives you 8, the inverse takes 8 and gives you back 2. Finding an inverse means switching every x and y in the equation and solving for y again. The graph flips across the line y = x like a mirror.

Then the problem.

Sometimes it is easy to find the inverse. Sometimes it is impossible to write it explicitly. A function like 3π sin x + sin x cannot be solved for x with algebra. You have to think. What angle makes the whole thing equal to 1? You work backwards through the unit circle until the answer appears.

Then the shortcut.

If you want the derivative of an inverse at a point, you do not need the inverse itself. You only need the derivative of the original function. The formula: the derivative of the inverse at a point equals 1 divided by the derivative of the original function evaluated at the switched point. The inverse flips the coordinates, so you flip where you plug in.

Watch the moment he shows why G prime of 8 equals 1/12 without ever writing the inverse function.

Every engineering student memorizes the derivative rules. Professor Leonard's lecture is the one that shows why the inverse derivative formula is just those same rules run backwards.

A software engineer at a semiconductor company in Austin said Professor Leonard's channel is the reason she passed Calculus 2 on her second attempt. She graduated, joined the company, and now makes $165,000 a year.

DR Horton controlled 591,000 home sites last year, but they owned fewer than 25% of them.

Regional home builders usually assume the public giants beat them on pricing because of economies of scale. The actual gap is that Lennar and DR Horton stopped being traditional land developers a decade ago.

Instead of tying up equity buying raw acreage and fighting a 24 month zoning fight, they use third party land bankers. They put down a 12% non refundable option deposit, let the land bankers fund the horizontal development, and take down finished lots only a few days before pouring foundation.

A regional builder delivering 40 homes a year has to buy the dirt upfront, sign a personal guarantee against an acquisition loan, and carry holding costs before building the home on that land. Their balance sheet is completely trapped.

Then comes even-flow production.

A regional builder starts three homes when customer contracts sign, then pauses for two months when buyer traffic slows. DR Horton starts two houses ever Monday morning on each active subdivision, rain or shine.

Because framing and concrete crews know they have guaranteed work every Monday for the next 52 weeks, they give the builder a volume discount off spot labor rates.

When I walk new construction subdivisions around the country and look at a national builder's site trailer (or model home office), I am looking at a manufacturing line that runs on option contracts and labor schedules. It is almost impossible for a local developer holding raw dirt with a personal guarantee to compete with that cost structure.

On top of that, these builders have distribution centers with every piece of wood, shingle, and doorknob ready to ship to the job sites at any moment.

Elite efficiency.
