Canada posted its first current account surplus in four years, led by strong gains in goods exports, including energy products.
Some of you are overly pessimistic about the US trade war; some of you are overly pessimistic about Canadas ability to build and develop resources. Let me tell you that Canada will produce and export more potash, uranium, copper, oil, natural gas and gold next year and in the years following. It’s baked in already. The only question is how much global market share we will gain.
@BetweenThieves7@FriedgeHNIC unintentional, what a joke. Follow the puck. Stolarz is in his crease and the puck is going the opposite way. He was trying to bump the goalie and he did.
Mark Carney is a great candidate, the Liberal Party is lucky to have him. But after the platform release today, its clear the Party is still in control: it commits Canada to continued economic decline

Prediction: Trump, in way over his skis and staring down the barrel of economic disaster, will quickly strike a series of mostly unremarkable, bilateral trade deals and declare them the greatest of all time.
If this pause on reciprocal tariffs were actually a victory and not a strategic retreat, you think Donald Trump would have sent someone else to announce it?
According to the President of the American Aluminum Association - for the US to setup a new Aluminum smelting factory - it would take 8-10 years, *if* they could find a power grid strong enough and willing to commit to 20+ years of service. Every one 🇨🇦 Aluminum job = 13 American jobs. Effectively gutting American jobs, raising costs for at least a decade. *Or*… they could continue purchasing from Canada at the current rates.. rates that Trump negotiated in 2018 that he called “perfect”.

Politicians are simply not serious about getting housing built.
We need to be doing everything we can to turn Canada into the best place for entrepreneurs to build 🇨🇦
What's proposed in the federal budget will do the complete opposite. Innovators and entrepreneurs will suffer and their success will be penalized -- this is not a wealth tax, it's a tax on innovation and risk taking.
Our policy failures are America's gains. At a time when our country is facing critically low productivity and business investment our political leaders are failing our country's entrepreneurs.
Please start listening to the people in the arena.
Brace yourself for tomorrow’s budget. It’s widely speculated wealth taxes are coming. Former BoC governor David Dodge says “it will be the most misdirected budget since 1932”. Let’s hope he’s wrong.
