BREAKING: JD Vance blasts Netanyahu's government:
Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time.
If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.
Eamon: "...a cloudless June sky, the oxen reposed in the shade of the mighty British oak, the reek rising from a million barbecues, and England beginning its World Cup endeavour."
Bill: "It's the kind of thing that puts you off England."
Essential viewing for the day that's in it
Knife attack victim Stephen Ogilvie — whose stabbing sparked two days of race-hate rioting — was previously tortured by a UVF-linked gang led by a double killer and overseen by a Shankill Butcher.

Palestine may not have made it to the World Cup, but Bosnia and Herzegovina fans are making sure it is always present, whether in Canada, the U.S. or football stadiums everywhere.
The individual involved in Monday's attack in North Belfast is not an "illegal" immigrant, they were granted leave to remain under UK immigration rules.
The Common Travel Area did not grant him permission to live in NI, the UK Home Office did.
The horrific knife attack isn't new nor "alien” to NI. The Shankill Butchers were Belfast born & bred. They cut throats from ear to ear. Let’s not engage in historical amnesia just because previous barbarity was never videoed nor went viral.

finding it hard to verbalise but I don’t want to hear British people talking about an invading “alien culture” in the part of Ireland they’ve kept as a colony for the past 100 years
The vicious attacker who attempted to murder a man in north Belfast last night is now in police custody.
My thoughts remain with the victim, his family & the local residents who witnessed such traumatic & distressing scenes.
The courage & quick actions of local people & the police who intervened to disarm the attacker undoubtedly prevented further harm & deserve the highest praise.
I was on the ground today speaking with local people & will continue to engage closely with the community & the PSNI as the investigation progresses.
We must allow justice to take its course & ensure the perpetrator faces the full weight of the law.
