these are all from the summer i started hiking & began to believe in the existence of a god. the second time was visiting ireland.
i think it’s almost inherent to gaels to find the divine in nature.
I love how Irish people lately are always like “yeah I don’t really believe in a god, idk, I’m not sure, I just really love nature and feel best when I get to spend time outdoors, so maybe nature is my god”
as a pagan I love hearing it but I have to try to hold back the laughter
@liannanannerss i have an in-between mom, where she had insane time optimism. we were usually only a minute or two late (or miraculously on time,) but it totally fried my nervous system.
@lesilly@GovernorAnne Even then we’re not safe. I work in early childhood education and we have kids who are so very obviously being parented by a screen. Sad, really.
@zeetalkssports@Age_of_Greed Not sure what part of the East Coast you think uses it. I’ve lived in all the Maritime provinces and have never heard “Don’s” once.
@fried_kale@jenberg81 Respectfully, it’s always dusty ass ugly men who will drain a beautiful woman with sweet a disposition until she’s dry.
Signed,
A former beautiful woman with a sweet disposition… Who’s now tired, sad, and empty.
@AndyT662634@lizzkelly7 When I lived with my ex, I kept the heat low. In “his space” (we had a spare bedroom), he’d have the heat cranked, and refuse to wear slippers/hoodies/extra socks, while I huddled under blankets trying to save some money wherever I could.
Very frustrating.
@adawongslvr @CoraCHarrington omg i saw a grwm of a woman heavily pregnant with TWINS saying she was 345 weeks pregnant
in the comments, “why are you saying you’re 345 weeks when that’s almost 7 years??”
like they gotta be trolling, right? right???
@USAsweetTerf2 It’s absolutely unreal how dense some people can be.
When two lesbians are having sex, there’s ZERO chance of pregnancy. It’s only when having sex WITH A **MAN** that there’s a chance for pregnancy.
… Meaning: MEN. CAUSE. PREGNANCY.
“Do you want kids” actually I want to be so deeply and safely inlove with a genuine, handsome, considerate, emotionally intelligent, healed provider of a man that the only feasible next option is to make him a father.

Well, when a child is conceived, the DNA split is 50/50 from both parents. Except for one small detail: mitochondrial DNA. It’s passed down only through the mother and never through sperm.
Which means something interesting: all living humans can trace their mitochondrial line back to one woman, not one man.
And every daughter born continues passing that same line forward.
Happy Women’s Day 💐
