Cornell Case - TMZ Releases More of the Newell–Jane Doe Text Exchange**
TMZ has released additional messages from the text exchange between Jonathan Newell and Jane Doe. I shared part of their October 21 conversation earlier, but these subsequent messages add some interesting context.
October 21, 2024
Doe tells Newell:
“also yes while it may have been nice for like only 4 people to have been around, yall were both super out of it and they should have taken it on themselves to leave. at the end of the day you, matt, and i were in your bed and they didn't need to get up in that.”
In another message, she reportedly tells him:
“ps. i'm not sure if u remember but i did ket off your d*** at some point❓and i honestly think that was one of the most insane/jaw dropping moments of the night.”
At this point, Doe appears to be filling in some of Newell's memory gaps. He acknowledges that parts of the night are fuzzy, apologizes for not shutting things down when additional men entered the room, and expresses concern for her.

The tone and characterization of events have changed considerably.
Doe writes:
“all i remember after that was u giving me ket to do off your d*** in front of everyone like a sex doll/worker.”
In that same message, she alleges that 90% of what happened that night was nonconsensual, that she was given more ketamine than she could remember, and that she had expressed discomfort with unfamiliar men being in the room.
Newell's subsequent response again emphasizes his lack of memory, apologizes, and acknowledges that he should have intervened when other men entered.
What changed between October 21 and November 3?
Reading these exchanges side by side, there's a noticeable shift in how Doe describes the experience and her memory of events.
During that period, the Halloween party controversy unfolded, she was disinvited from Chi Phi, and questions arose about who knew what had happened in the alumni room.
Discovering that details of their sexual encounter had been shared with other fraternity members, particularly through those Snapchat messages, could understandably feel like a significant betrayal.
I'll link both TMZ stories below so people can read the articles.
@hawtmod oo! chimps are also our close relatives by a similar margin, and they’re patriarchal, putting strong alpha bullies in leadership. humans on the otherhand have historically dealt w/ bullies by shunning them from the group! man who uses his strength to hog all the food gets shunned
@gettingyelledat@hollowearthterf Women don’t express leadership through hierarchy. Patriarchy is a pyramid, with the few in power at top; it’s built on hierarchy, dominance, and violence. Matriarchy is a circle and centers children and the most vulnerable; it’s built on connection, collaboration, and consensus.
