I have defended my PhD thesis on civil resistance in Northern Somalia in the 1980s. We can all learn from acts of care, dignity and solidarity in the Somali region - and how such acts can transform societies. Thank you Uffo @CindyMHorst@PRIOresearch@issnl and many others!

My colleague @JJensehaugen in a discussion with the Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council Jan Egeland on the devastation wrought by the seige on Gaza.
International humanitarian law prohibits in any war, also against terrorism, all indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks.

They thereby counter the injustices that occur whenever research participants cannot access – or make sense of – the research they have substantially contributed to.
The methods differ from more conventional research that is usually more extractive, i.e., using the data gathered in local communities for foreign academic publications.
