@kollegeklubguy Essentially what you are saying is, Notre Dame is one of the elite academic institutions, which hinders many from getting in. Second, you are admitting that they are one of the elite all time football programs, which led to a huge fan base. It’s really a slight to your own school
@40AcresFight@HorsemenPod@Brett_McMurphy Explain why Notre Dame needs to join a conference, without saying, "because everyone else is". In the 80s and 90s, there were many independents, but they chose the safe route of joining a conference, their choice. Notre Dame elected to gamble & stay independent their choice.
Good thing @espn and the @CFBPlayoff committee are afraid of @GregSankey and put a terrible @AlabamaFTBL in the playoffs. Really made for a captivating Rose Bowl.
@Ryan_Pac1982@keyshawn Not looking to argue, but I need an explanation of why they should be forced into a conference? Teams elected to leave independence in the 80s & 90s, ND chose not to. It has worked for them. It has come down to jealousy from others because they could not sustain being independent
@josephgould@ClayTravis It’s not. If it was, nbc would cut ties, games on the road would not be switched to larger venues to accommodate the fan size, and there wouldn’t be a constant push to have them in a conference.
@MikeGoolsby41 To me it indicates two things. First, it’s a nod to how great Notre Dame is as an academic institution. Second, it speaks to the brand of ND football being massive.
