I couldn't be more proud to announce Polycam's Vision 25 launch today.
The collective effort of my colleagues has made the past few months of work the most enriching, meaningful, and fun period of my career.

Prior to the election, I wrote a piece that I'd like to share: https://t.co/MtC3JrsNQZ
It's about Taoism, specifically the Tao Te Ching, as a source of guidance for how to mentally prepare for the election and its aftermath. I've been told it's helpful for some πβ―οΈ
Several enhancements to @Polycam3D's 3DGS were released today, including custom video, cropping, and most notably measuring your captures. The latter of which I don't believe has been seen publicly on a platform before.

@HammadTime@suno_ai_ ya, music feels like the hardest field for genAI. The copyright cooldown is very much looming, and nobody is better at enforcing copyright law than the music industry.
@jasontoff@nickkruge I love Rooms and I think you should just launch it! Make sure (100% important) to prompt for reviews once a user has reached a certain level of comfort with the product, like created a Room or viewed X number: https://t.co/AUeoCYRxSg
@alexcarliera Hey Alex! I work at @Polycam3D , and you might've seen it but we just released a Gaussian Splatting tool today. I'm curious to know how we can make the export format (currently a PLY) work with your project in Blender. DM me if you're interested in connecting!
super proud of the team on this one π
splats are so cool - it's the same feeling for me as first discovering photogrammetry. Feels like a true leap forward in 3D capture.
Big news - we shipped Gaussian Splatting π
Capture the impossible at: https://t.co/v1HT0IYm7E π₯
Processing is free, and splats render fast in the browser. You can also export the .ply file. Enjoy π
@maxbittker this is legit one of the coolest things I've seen built in a really long time. I spent easily 45 minutes on it last night, actually going through the checklist. You should be so proud of this work!!
@iamelizasj Just echoing other responses here that the key for me was realizing the function ran for *every* pixel individually. Things like grids, checkerboards, and gradients are super helpful at the beginning.
@madduey82@Polycam3D It looks like SketchUp for iPad doesn't import anything but other SketchUp files: https://t.co/R1HsrzZchU
You could try importing on desktop and then editing the file on iPad
