UK university libraries ‘£51 million worse off than last year’
Cuts to library budgets of up to 30 per cent have seen journal subscriptions cancelled and opening hours slashed, says librarians’ association https://t.co/Mip8sH72RW
This only has fewer than 800 signatures. Surely there are more non qualifying #leaseholders (and even if you are qualified you should sign to help out) - Remove non-qualifying status for #leasehold flats - #Petitions#BuildingSafetyCrisis https://t.co/9cgbAb5mln
✍️EOCS written evidence to PAC inquiry into dangerous cladding remediation
“..shocking to hear politicians & officials categorising people who have lost their homes, been forced into bankruptcy, or taken their own life as "edge cases."
⚖️ @mhclg@AlexJJNorris@AngelaRayner
📣 “Really disappointed by what we’ve seen of Labour so far.. after all the support we saw in opposition..
Too
▶️ many issues
▶️ many to barriers to remediation
▶️ many people ruled out of help (#nonqualifyingLH )
⚖️ @AngelaRayner@mhclg@AlexJJNorris need to do a whole lot more”
British maths…

I was in the queue for over 8 minutes.

The queue had over 6 people in it.
“Give me a sec”
Give me 15-30 minutes.

We are delighted to announce the publication of the 3rd ed. of A Classification for Medical and Veterinary Libraries (2024, LSHTM Press) https://t.co/TtW1b35SkA. Originally published in 1936, the scheme has been extensively revised to meet health-focused collections requirements.
Amanda’s experience of coming up against what appeared to her to be a largely unknowing and uncaring wall of political obfuscation should weigh heavily on everyone in Parliament. Thank you Glenda for telling her story. @mhclg@EOCS_Official

Why is this a battle?
Why is everything building related a battle?
Why doesn't @Keir_Starmer have our backs?
Why doesn't @AngelaRayner have our backs?
Why doesn't @mtpennycook?
Why don't @UKLabour have our backs?
It's not good news if you are a shared owner *and* trapped in the building safety crisis.
@AngelaRayner@mtpennycook@AlexJJNorris this is a crisis made in Whitehall. What are you going to do to fix it?
Pennycooked - to be torturously extorted your home by corporations over a long period of time, leaving you penniless and mentally fried, particularly whilst under the watch of government officials ...
⚖️@GOVUK Remediation Acceleration Plan announced & per our statement earlier:
“There is nothing on non-cladding defects, nothing for #nonqualifyingLH, nothing for innocent LH’s in buildings under 11m…”
👇Consequences @mhclg highlighted by @k_petrakos & @theipaper today.
📢 @UKLabour has announced its Cladding Remediation Acceleration Plan.
The "plan" looks extremely disappointing. Innocent leaseholders and residents across the country need and deserve much more.
Our statement 👇🏼
#EndOurCladdingScandal
So anyway, we'll still all be saying the same stuff we've been saying for years to a government with different coloured ties. Which is a familiar feeling in the country at the moment, I think
If you live in one of the affected buildings, I don't think life will feel particularly different after this announcement. The problems of non-qualifying leaseholders, non-cladding defects, orphan buildings, insurance costs, interim measures etc etc still stand

Our statement on the National Audit Office report into dangerous cladding 👇
The Labour government must now get a grip and take control of this living nightmare. The “merry-go-round of buck-passing” must end.
#EndOurCladdingScandal#NotJustCladding
Our current @UKLabour leaders know everything about the #BuildingSafetyCrisis, because in the shadow cabinet we've been speaking to them for 7 yrs.
They know what to do to solve this. Yet in govt they procrastinate as they try to woo the companies that caused it.
