Proud PI moment: our lab's first poster award! Amazing job by Eva at the "Jornada de Biologia Molecular de la SCB & CATCAT Day." Guess it is time now to turn the data into a paper and get it published! 😅

On my way to visit @MFreiberge & @LaineElodie in Paris at Sorbonne University to discuss about proteins, ongoing collaborations & to give a talk about local frustration! ⭐️🙌🏿🎉 Looking forward! If you're around, my talk is on Friday! 🇦🇷🇪🇸🇫🇷👨🏽🔬
we teach and are taught that proteins fold to their lowest energy state. but this cannot be true, otherwise they wouldnt do anything. protein features have evolved to be "frustrated", which enables functionality through conservation of structural meta-stability.

🆕Una nueva estrategia permite eliminar proteínas implicadas en procesos patológicos.
El estudio propone un mecanismo que dirige proteínas diana directamente al proteasoma, evitando ubiquitinación.
Los resultados abren nuevas vías en oncología.

In addition to that, we had the amazing opportunity to speak with Lennart in Zacatecas along the whole Mexican biochemistry community, such an incredible venue and great community of scientists. Thanks to @josearkanos for inviting us!!!
We were so excited to meet and discuss with the protein community in Mexico, it was a great experience and we saw many great BindCraft designs generated in just one day session! Thanks to @aaronmring’s amazing @AriaxBio platform that made running it easier with so many teams
Excited to open this up and get community feedback on OF3-preview!
We’ve worked hard to be the first to reproduce AF3’s full training setup + synthetic data, and it’s been quite interesting (and humbling) to see how sensitive these models can be to even small variations.
For now AF3 reigns supreme over open source co-folding, but we're hard at work trying to cook up the secret sauce - stay tuned for our full release! 🧑🍳
🔥 It's here: OpenFold3 is now live.
THE open-source foundation model for predicting 3D structures of proteins, nucleic acids & small molecules. This is where the future of drug discovery and biomolecular AI lives.

We are excited to share our latest publication! 🎉
The group led by Héctor García Seisdedos, in colaboration with scientists of the University of Geneva and the Weizmann Institute of Science, has published an article featured on the cover of Molecular Systems Biology.
A mysterious new protein complex has been identified.
This 1 MDa complex is a hollow, elliptical protein cage.
The authors speculate on potential roles as a chaperone, container, or protease trap, but the biological function of the CAGE complex has yet to be determined.
A new preprint from the lab. I won't do a tweetorial until this is peer reviewed, but I think it's a banger, led by @JedNzy. It's about Rubisco and what chaperones are really for. He's on the market, get him while you can.
