Even if the contradictions of capitalism deterministically guaranteed its demise, that doesn't ensure that whatever comes next would be better, let alone far worse
Do you really think you would hold all of the same morally enlightened views if you were born into a vastly different family? In a different part of the world? A different century?
Acknowledging even a mild cultural determinism and a weak notion of moral luck goes a long way to show how historically illiterate presentism really is
and yes you can avoid presentism without relativizing & saying the wrongs of past individuals were fine

But I'm not sure how they could've presented heavenly bliss as well as they exhibited the failures of a static judgement & eternity
