So I’m still alive and just have been focusing on some local mass work, but does anyone want to collab on a reading syllabus for Mormons reading groups? We call the one we have locally ‘Leaving the 99’ and it’s been really positive.
the best love songs are desperate and teetering on or after heartbreak and I need more of them in my life
I currently have three that speak to me:
- Lover, You Should've Come Over by Jeff Buckley
- Can't Get Over You by Who Parked The Car
- Only Wanna Be with You by Samm Henshaw
Remember, trying to make sense of what makes fascism so appealing will make you feel like you’re losing your mind because it doesn’t operate on anything logical.
It is based on grievance, vengeance, cruelty, and control.
It refuses to be reasoned with.
the leftist position is that people’s positions, even if horrific, have roots in their material reality. the liberal position as best i can tell is that 20-30% of the country has an irredeemably evil soul. i guess im going with the one you could actually do something about.
Alas, Nate Cohn and the New York Times being unable to run the Election Needle-meter tonight due to worker and guild strikes, is ever-so tantalizingly close to my own ideal politics.
Also if you’re on here shaming voters for having principles and morals and you also haven’t been phone or text banking into swing states then shut the hell up, your opinions are useless
hey just, I think I’ve said this and it feels obvious, but, if you don’t live in a a swing state, then you’re presidential vote is already merely symbolic and pls just vote however you want, write in free Palestine or abstain or whatever and if anyone gives you lip they’re silly
This is the result of “everyone is welcome” bait and switch churches.
A gay couple came to our church on Sunday and one of them filled out a connect card. I texted him today, inviting them to coffee or to hang out for a few minutes after one of our services on Sunday, and he responded with this message.
Even after experiencing a painful bait and switch at multiple churches, this couple is still looking for a faith community where they can fully belong.
The relentless faith of LGBTQ+ Christians astounds and inspires me.
Playin the middle ain’t gon cut it, beloved.
Justice takes a side.
Jesus takes a side.
And if the Gospel is to be believed… He picked the side that got him killed like a common criminal.
