Mes collègues m'ont demandé de dire quelques mots sur les résultats de notre conversation téléphonique avec le Président des États-Unis.

Effectivement, cet échange a bien eu lieu. Il a duré plus de deux heures. Je tiens à souligner qu’il a été très riche et particulièrement franc. De manière générale, il s’est révélé très utile à mon sens.

Tout d'abord, j’ai remercié le Président des États-Unis pour le soutien apporté par les États-Unis à la reprise de négociations directes entre la Russie et l’Ukraine, en vue de la conclusion éventuelle d’un accord de paix, ainsi qu’à la relance du dialogue interrompu, comme chacun le sait, par la partie ukrainienne dès 2022.

Le Président des États-Unis a exprimé sa position quant à la cessation des hostilités et à l'instauration d’un cessez-le-feu. Pour ma part, j’ai également souligné que la Russie demeure favorable à un règlement pacifique de la crise ukrainienne. Il nous faut simplement déterminer les voies les plus efficaces pour parvenir à la paix.

Nous sommes convenus, avec le Président des États-Unis, que la Russie proposerait et se déclarerait prête à travailler avec la partie ukrainienne sur un mémorandum relatif à un éventuel futur accord de paix, définissant un certain nombre de points, tels que, par exemple, les principes du règlement, les délais envisageables pour la conclusion de l’accord et ainsi de suite, y compris un éventuel cessez-le-feu temporaire, si des accords appropriés sont conclus.

D’ailleurs, les contacts entre les participants à la réunion d’Istanbul et aux négociations ont été repris, ce qui permet de considérer que, dans l’ensemble, nous sommes sur la bonne voie.

Je tiens une nouvelle fois à souligner que l’échange a été très constructif et que j’en fais une évaluation positive.

La question, bien entendu, est que les parties russe et ukrainienne fassent preuve de la plus grande volonté de paix possible et trouvent des compromis acceptables pour tous.

☝️ Je souhaite par ailleurs rappeler que la position de la Russie est, dans son ensemble, claire : le but principal pour nous est d'éliminer les causes profondes de cette crise.

Si des éclaircissements sont nécessaires, Dmitry Peskov, porte-parole du Kremlin, ainsi que Iouri Ouchakov, conseiller du Président de la Fédération de Russie, clarifieront un peu plus tard certains détails de notre échange téléphonique d’aujourd’hui avec le Président Donald Trump.
