The UA is one of the institutions that can sponsor one of the winners of the 2020 51Peg b Fellowship (Heising-Simons Foundation). If you have a recent PhD in exoplanet-related research, or are going to get one by Fall 2020, please consider applying. https://t.co/vSyZmrr7Pw
CARMENES @CARMENES_exopl discovered two temperate Earth-mass planet candidates around Teegarden’s Star, the smallest star where researchers have so far been able to measure the weight of a planet directly

Our new paper led by @benrackham on the transit light source effect: how does stellar heterogeneity contaminate spectra of transiting planets? Now for FGK-type stars. TiO absorption? Spec. Slopes? NaI+KI? Halpha? Biosignature contamination? Check out TLSE2!https://t.co/thVx6r45p6
We are starting another exciting night in the EDEN survey - this time on the 61” Kuiper telescope. Tonight we ade targeting two very nearby red dwarf stars in search of Earth-sized planets!
I am excited to speak tomorrow at the Steward Obs. Public Lecture series about Project EDEN and our search for habitable planets in the solar neighborhood! If you are in Tucson tomorrow, join us at 7:30pm!

In our first three-continent @edensurvey campaign four research telescopes are monitoring the same stars, providing around-the-clock coverage: a deep search for potentially habitable transiting planets around select nearby red dwarf stars. What will we find?
TRAPPIST-1 is heterogeneous, which contaminates the transit spectra of its planets. It makes detection of water vapor particularly difficult. Understanding the properties & distribution of starspots/faculae will be key. Details in our newly accepted paper https://t.co/hiiECQX5Bo
3-2-1… and we have liftoff of Parker #SolarProbe atop @ULAlaunch’s #DeltaIV Heavy rocket. Tune in as we broadcast our mission to “touch” the Sun: https://t.co/T3F4bqeATB
Great blog post by EDEN student Kerst Kingsbury on how to schedule observations for an exoplanet survey and on meeting Moonwalkers at the Tucson Spacefest! At the Project EDEN blog: https://t.co/QXkXAssHMS
We completed our first extensive monitoring campaign targeting a nearby, little-studied red dwarf star. 3 telescopes on 2 continents = 17 nights of data, scanning the temperate zone for earth-sized transiting planets. We are now analyzing data - hunting for new worlds!
Allie Mousseau is a @UofA astronomy student studying nearby stars to decide which should be searched for temperate zone Earth-sized planets by @edensurvey . Read her new blog post on her work and being part of Project EDEN! https://t.co/02frfLf5Wt

@edensurvey students convert transiting exoplanet data to piano tunes to help visually impaired students connect to data from telescopic observations. Listen to the tunes of exoplanets at https://t.co/rJdmpEPvGa @UASkyCenter@UAresearch
