@DIA_NewYork, @riseandresistny, @CID_NY, and others have rallied monthly for the last 16 months. @MTA has been fighting a lawsuit for 7+ years!

@timgill924 To appease my curiosity, I tried to look up the person as I was interested in what type of "radical" they were. I haven't found an answer, but according to their own words, it's part of a "performance". Now to figure out if it's the armchair or tenure$ type of "radical".
In 2021 the libs promised a CDB that would reduce poverty like the GIS and CCB. The GIS has a max of $1000/month/person.
Yesterday, the feds proposed a CDB with a max of $200/month, delayed until mid 2025, full of barriers.
This isn't what the disability community called for.
Adding obstacles in terms of planned waiting time and delays to deter the usage of an accessible entrance and exit is detrimental to equitable usage.
" All three have ample turnstiles for riders to access in case of an actual emergency" is an irresponsible and dangerous stance.
"News you didn’t hear at the @MTA board meeting today, members of the Rise and Resist Elevator Action group disrupted the meeting to call attention to a lawsuit filed in 2017 about poor maintenance practices and unreliable elevators. Settle the case!"
There's more to say, and so much more to do, but things are starting to change and I'm thankful for my fellow activists who continue the decades-long fight for accessible public transportation @riseandresistny@DIA_NewYork@EqualAccessNy2@sbgoldensohn https://t.co/Th3OaJLFR5
My ethnographic project using video, audio and GPS to document the experiences of people with disabilities with the transportation infrastructure in NYC just passed IRB on the first try. My foreign self is a bit surprised to say the least.
More developpements to come soon!
@vernon_w_cisney Got the max score, and all of this could have happened on one friday night. But can we get bonus points for doing these multiple times?
