A lot of people associate the rise of “New Media” with @a16z.

But it actually belongs to @ColinandSamir.

And it started when they decided to turn the camera around and document the era of YouTube that would make it more popular than television.

They made it to the top, and then extended the ladder to creators like me.

This is new media. This is Taste.

Episode coming soon.

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

Really coming into our own way as a studio.

Posters and some awesome collateral for each episode of This is Taste incoming.

@soren_iverson episode looking good

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

I genuinely love our team at @enjoyersmedia.

I'm having some of the most challenging fun of my life and it's because of this crew.

Humbled by how much this team believes in our mission and the massive challenges ahead.

Measuring velocity of designers is absolute bullsh*" says @sravienna, CDO at @metalab

Speed isn't about cutting corners. It's about building trust.

The faster you demonstrate momentum, the more goodwill you earn. And that goodwill buys you the space for quality work.

Her team uses "Tarantinos":

Play out the end of the movie fast, throw everything at the wall, kill your darlings. 80% won't work. But you need space to find the 20% that becomes magic.

He's been designing for 25+ years, and his work is an example of pushing tools further.

You're familiar with @mrblackstudio.

His stack is Figma, Framer, Midjourney, ChatGPT. That's it.

Lee is one of my favorite designer’s of recent memory, and this is one of my favorite convos.

New State of Play is up.

[Zantos @kylezantos]

I have the distinct pleasure of starting to work with @editedbysam on some stuff for @toolbenders. Really excited to work with such a skilled editor/director.

Though after recording this OBS setup test for him to verify, I'm not sure that feeling is going to continue to be mutual

[Sam Chapman @editedbysam]

@kylezantos @toolbenders if anything, we've been bonded for life through this

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

New State of Play with @eschadiol from @perplexity_ai.

She made those @comet invitations that looked hand-crafted but scaled to 10k+ unique outputs. Trained her own models to pull it off.

Also runs a record label on the side. Uses AI to demo ideas to producers, then works with them to make the real thing.

We got into how Perplexity’s design team actually works, and why prompting isn't a gimmick skill.

Full episode on YouTube.

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

Designers have regularly been sending me some really cool things they're creating.

So I asked you to send me short video walking through your tool usage. Show me what you built and how you built it.

It's pretty incredible to see how you guys are building with these tools.

@Luvnits created a graffiti ink tool using Figma Make. He took a physics approach to making sure the ink-bleed was realistic and variable.

@victoria_framer used @floraai and @framer to test ideas faster than I've seen anyone move.

@fw3d rebuilt a @contra branding effect in @hiunicornstudio just to understand how it worked.

If you're into this kind of stuff, first episode is live now.

Send me your work, I want to see how you made it.

15 podcasts cut in 7 days...

@designertom YT is going into the new year with a stack of fresh content 👀

[Sam Chapman @editedbysam]

So we got our first 100k+ video on @designertom YouTube channel and I couldn't be prouder.

The team came together with long shifts, making tweaks right till an hour before release and all that hard work paid off.

I love my job 🏆

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

First episode of This is Taste just cracked 100k views before 2026.

Pretty dope.

[Ridd 🤿 @ridd_design]

This is worth your time 🍿

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

I've spent the year studying how designers are exploring.

Then the @karrisaarinen vs. @ryolu_ debate kicked off, and it captured everything I've been seeing this year.

I sat down to write a 60 second video about it.

6 hours later I'd written something more.

Reasonable hyperbole: this was the most important convo in design this year.

Team is stacked going into 2026:

Design, dev, video production and a great network of film crew excited to show up when we need them.

We talk all day about "taste" in craft. But when you have great taste in people and talent, really cool things happen.

It's a big theme in my upcoming episode with Colin & Samir.

Shoutouts to the Enjoyers Studio team that believes in this chaotic little mission:

@legendofbern
@editedbysam
@agustineguia
@adnastu
@AlexAperios
@kylezantos
@laurilllll

And a huge thank you to our partners in crime: @JKaplan1 + @benjamweiss and the rest of the @smoothmedia_ team for flexing with our moonshots and helping us get there.

[Soren Iverson @soren_iverson]

Tommy crushed this.

His team followed us around for a few days this summer. Impressed by his storytelling + the editing and motion graphics on this are nuts.

We filmed ~6mo ago but it feels like a lifetime. Iverson’s grown and matured, but we still have so far to go.

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

If you are a designer who:

1. Has recently created something dope (visually impressive, real or experimental)
2. Wants to be spotlighted in a video
3. Can get me some BTS assets by end of next week (looms walking through the files, list of tools used, throwaway iterations, etc)

Then hit me up.

I’d like to feature you, spotlight your process, and share your work with my audience across socials and newsletter.

I’ve heard this has been helpful in getting designers more clients and new jobs, and I want to start doing it more meaningfully.

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

Grateful for support like this made possible by our @enjoyersmedia team:

@steve_hayes @designertom @aesopsolo @soren_iverson @agustineguia Really appreciate it Steve 👊🏻

Another episode for @designertom is live!

This was a real eye-opener of an episode to edit, seeing how @soren_iverson s team get sh*t done and get it done fast!

Designers, this is a must watch!

[Tommy Geoco 🇺🇸 @designertom]

Some people make noise on the internet for the sake of noise.

But @soren_iverson knows how to make it mean something.

This is how the Weird Al of tech turned his absurdity into a world-class design agency.
